“It’s just stunning. The breadth and the diversity of the sceneries that you see are fantastic, as well as the warmth and the welcome of the people.” High praise indeed from TV presenter Fred Sirieix, as his new show ‘Tour de Fred: Northern Ireland’ aired earlier this month on ITV1 to more than two million viewers across GB. Showcasing Northern Ireland’s breathtaking scenery, culinary experiences and world-class visitor attractions, as well as Fred’s passion for cycling, this five-part series was supported by Tourism Ireland and Irish Ferries. It was devised by Holywood-based Waddell Media. The great news is that viewers can watch it back on the streaming service ITVX, with Fred taking on the stunning Mourne Mountains and Strangford Lough, a boxing lesson and bacon baps in Belfast, golf and hurling on the Causeway Coast, as well as Halloween celebrations in Derry-Londonderry. GB holidaymakers inspired by Fred’s adventure in Northern Ireland can find out more about the places he visits on our website: https://lnkd.in/esh8Eqmc #TourismIreland #FredSirieix #NorthernIreland

We’re delighted to have co-produced 'Patrick – A Slave to Ireland', a documentary narrated by Ciarán Hinds, which explores how St Patrick's radical Christian movement converted Ireland and much of Europe, as well as how the Irish church he founded played a pivotal role in reseeding classical learning, science and philosophy across Europe. Viewers of the documentary will see stunning drone footage of iconic locations including the Rock of Cashel, Croagh Patrick, the Mournes, Downpatrick and Glendalough. It will air on BBC Two to around 2.4 million viewers across GB on Thursday. French and German language versions (‘Saint Patrick - Esclave et protecteur de l’Irlande’ and ‘St. Patrick - Vom Sklaven zum Schutzpatron’) will also be available to stream on ARTE.tv on St Patrick’s Day. Viewers on the island of Ireland can watch it on RTÉ and BBC One Northern Ireland, also on St Patrick’s Day. The documentary, directed by Ruán Magan, was supported by Tourism Ireland, RTE, ARTE, BBC and Coimisiún na Meán. #TourismIreland #HappyStPatricksDay

We hosted 28 tourism companies from the island of Ireland on our stand, including 12 companies selling Northern Ireland – from premium hotels, whiskey distilleries and outdoor adventure providers to hidden gems of heritage. We’re delighted to welcome Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald to our roundtable event with key US tour operators, airlines and travel trade media in New York today. Minister Archibald outlined some of the many great reasons for US travellers to choose Northern Ireland for a holiday this year – from the stunning scenery of the Causeway Coast to world-class visitor attractions like Titanic Belfast and Game of Thrones Studio Tour. Festivals such as Derry Halloween and sporting occasions like The Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club this summer were also highlighted as ‘must-visit’ reasons for US holidaymakers. In 2025, we are showcasing iconic reasons to travel to the island of Ireland across multiple overseas markets, including the United States, to win hearts, minds and trips. #TourismIreland #FillYourHeartwithIreland Department for the Economy NI
