We're thrilled that the wonderful wildlife and beautiful natural landscapes of Kerry and Cork have featured in this online article in The Guardian by Mike Unwin, who we invited here last month. Mike explored Páirc Náisiúnta na Mara, Ciarraí (Ireland's first marine National Park) and visited Skellig Michael with Skellig Coast Adventures and the Blasket Islands with Aqua Terra Boat Tours – encountering seabirds, grey seals and even a minke whale! Mike also went on a wildlife tour with Kinsale Angling Charters, spotting dolphins and bluefin tuna. Read more about Mike's trip here: https://lnkd.in/eJnJxKCJ With thanks to Mike Unwin and Jane Dunford. #TourismIreland #FailteIreland #TheGuardian

We're proud to share sustainable experiences in the landscapes visitors love at Tourism Ireland. Irish eco-tourism made headlines in Scandinavia recently. This four-page cover story in Denmark's Politiken travel supplement, Rejser, was written by Travel Editor Tina Krongaard, and highlights sustainable tourism experiences on the Howth peninsula. It features the story of local guide Shane O'Doherty, who runs Howth Adventures, a family business offering eco-friendly tours in Dublin’s #UNESCOBiosphere. The article captures Howth’s stunning coastal scenery, historic castles, and natural wilderness, while also showcasing the sustainable practice of using a rare native breed of Irish goat to protect the peninsula from gorse fires. This initiative not only reduces wildfire risk by controlling flammable vegetation, but also helps preserve the ancient breed. With thanks to Des Burke, Emer Mac Diarmada at Tourism Ireland in Northern Europe as well as Tina and Shane for this wonderful piece. #fillyourheartwithireland #howth #dublin

The island of Ireland was promoted to around 200 tour operators and travel agents in four cities across Spain last week – at a travel trade roadshow visiting Seville, Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. Each of the cities has direct flights to Ireland for Spanish holidaymakers. Three tourism companies from the island of Ireland took part in the roadshow. It was a great opportunity to meet and do business with the Spanish travel professionals, to encourage them to extend their Ireland offering, or to include the island of Ireland for the first time, in their programmes for 2025 and beyond. #TourismIreland #VisitBritain #VisitNorway #PolandTourism #CzechTourism

We were delighted to welcome a group of leading French tour operators to explore Northern Ireland. These tour operators are important partners who bring valuable French tourists to Northern Ireland each year. We aim to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering – including some of the many sustainable tourism experiences now available – given that this is a key time to influence the addition of new tourism products to their programmes for 2025 and beyond. Here they are in Belfast, at Killeavy Castle Estate, at Dart Mountain Cheese in the Sperrin Mountains and at The Gobbins. #TourismIreland #TourismNI

Ireland has been chosen as this year’s host destination for the Air Canada-United Airlines Race. 30 travel agents from Canada and the US have been taking part in the race – that pits them against each other every year, as they run around to complete a series of challenges that immerses them in hidden gems and not-to-be-missed photo spots. The travel advisors have also been taking part in a workshop, connecting with around 60 tourism companies from across the island of Ireland. The workshop is followed by various familiarisation trips, allowing them to experience at first-hand what our island has to offer. Here are the travel agents in Belfast, at Bishop's Palace in Waterford, at Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens in Leitrim and at Johnnie Fox's pub in Dublin. #TourismIreland #FailteIreland #TourismNorthernIreland
