During #BlackHistoryMonth and every month, we continue to build on our culture of belonging by connecting our people through personal stories, traditions, and celebrations. As October comes to a close, we wanted to shine a light on the activities our firm has undertaken to celebrate and recognise Black History Month. Each year, Black History Month is celebrated throughout October in Ireland and the UK. This is a time to recognise and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black individuals in Ireland and around the world. In PwC, our Cultural Pillar tested our knowledge through educational quizzes, spotlighted our employees, and discussed this year’s theme, “What Unity in Diversity Means to Them.”  Learn more from our colleagues 👇

In celebration of October Mental Health Month, we had the honour of welcoming Brent Pope—one of Ireland’s foremost mental health advocates, former rugby professional, and founder of the Elephant In The Room Movement—to our Spencer Dock office. Brent, alongside our Mental Health Partner Sponsor, Pat Moran, formally unveiled our bespoke ‘PwC Elephant’ sculpture. This sculpture is a testament to PwC’s commitment to making mental health a priority in our workplace - symbolising awareness, belonging, empathy, and inclusion. Building on our own internal Green Light to Talk initiative, our PwC Elephant Sculpture is now placed front and centre in our Spencer Dock reception area and is an important symbol of hope and a powerful conversation starter amongst both colleagues and clients.

Today, 10 October, marks World Mental Health Day and at PwC we are committed to shining a light on mental health awareness and empowering our people to have open conversations. To mark the day, our Green Light To Talk Advocates held a Connect Café across all of our offices which provided a space for employees to take some time to check-in and connect with each other. These moments of connection are hugely important to encourage open dialogue and conversation about mental health. #MentalHealthAwareness #PwCProud

We were delighted to attend this year’s gradireland Graduate Fair at the RDS this week! 🎉 Our team loved meeting students and chatting about our role opportunities, life at PwC, and what they can expect as a PwC graduate. We also participated in two seminar talks on Embracing Diversity in the Workplace and the Undergraduate of the Year Awards. A huge thanks to all the students who stopped by to those sessions. Reminder: We are open for applications for graduate roles across Assurance, Risk Assurance, Tax, and Consulting. Applications close on the 23rd of October.
