JCC, founded by ICCCI Chairman David A. Hercky, has initiated a memorial event on October 7 in Prague to honour the victims of the massacre committed by the Hamas terrorists in Israel. At 6 o'clock, all the church bells in Prague rang in remembrance of the victims.

We were honored to host H.E. Veronika Kuchyňová Šmigolová, the Czech Ambassador at our headquarters in Haifa today, along with the esteemed delegation: Lukáš Přibyl, Attaché for Science, R&D, and Innovation; Milan Slanec, Commercial Counsellor; David A. Hercky, Chairman of the Israel - Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Assaf Israel Dovrat, CEO of ICCCI; and Dagmar Shapira Lang, Business Director of ICCCI. This visit was filled with valuable discussions, particularly around strengthening collaborations in the energy sector, a critical area of focus for both nations as we continue advancing innovative solutions in electricity, cybersecurity, and sustainability. Thank you, Amir Livne, Elad Shaviv, for an insightful presentation on the electricity challenges we face and the 360 security approach, and to Milan Slanec for the great overview of the energy sector in the Czech Republic! Special thanks to Yael Gavish, Dagmar Lang, and Assaf Dovrat for making this important event happen, and to everyone who contributed to making this day a remarkable success. The Czech Republic's central bank has cut its key interest rate for the seventh time in a row, in a response to slowing inflation. The cut, which had been predicted by analysts, brought the interest rate down by a quarter-point to 4.25%. The bank started to trim borrowing costs in December last year, the first cut since June 2022. https://lnkd.in/dMAEm84v

We deeply regret the difficult situation that many residents of the Czech Republic are currently facing due to the severe flooding. Here is a picture from Opava, one of the most affected towns. During a Death March through Opava (winter 1945), citizens threw biscuits and pastries from their windows to the Holocaust victims, according to the testimony of Holocaust survivor Joel Brandwajn (MF DNES, March 8, 2017).

We are actively expanding cooperation in the Czech Republic. It was a pleasure to meet with representatives of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Centre for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. Partnership and mutual opportunities were "on the table". Enterprise Europe Network is the largest global consulting network especially for SMEs, while Regional Development of the Czech Republic supports regional development. It was founded at the end of 1996 with the main purpose to support the regional policy of the Government to be implemented through European funds.

Credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings has revised Austria's outlook to positive from stable, citing the country's improving energy supply position and solid budgetary situation. "The positive outlook reflects the potential that Austria's energy supply position improves further while its economy remains robust over the next 24 months," S&P said. https://lnkd.in/dMA_RKgM

Poland’s economy has made remarkable progress over a relatively short period. The European nation’s GDP reached $1.39 trillion in 2023, climbing 40 per cent in the 20 years since it joined the European Union (EU). American and German firms made for the largest share of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Poland in 2023, according to a report published on Monday. The latest EY Europe Attractiveness Survey shows that last year Europe experienced its first decline in FDI in years, as the number of projects dropped by 4% year-on-year, and the number of new jobs created fell by 7% year-on-year. However, the report shows that in 2023, Poland performed better compared to other European countries. https://lnkd.in/dhN_dizh
