One year ago, on October 7, 2023, Israel faced unimaginable horror. Over 1,200 lives were brutally taken, and more than 200 people were kidnapped in an attack that forever changed our nation. The pain of that day still lingers deeply, and we remain during its painful aftermath. Yesterday, we hosted a unique event partnering with the Cybersecurity Directorate at the Israel Ministry of Finance - משרד האוצר, ICNL Israel, Gav-Yam Negev Tech Park, and Tech7 Venture Studio. Designed for senior citizens from Be'er Sheva, the event deepened their knowledge of #finance and #cybersecurity. Ori Itzhak from the Cybersecurity Directorate and Anat Shilon Lechner from Mastercard presented on financial fraud, digital wallets, and financial identity management and shared useful tips for protecting against and preventing financial scams. Participants also toured the ICNL Israel lab to explore #innovative cybersecurity #solutions and learn how new technologies impact their lives. Be'er Sheva's Mayor, Rubik Danilovich, emphasized the importance of #community and #innovation, highlighting the event as a great example of #collaboration that strengthens Be'er Sheva as a tech hub. The event gave participants valuable #insights and #tools to navigate the digital world. This morning, the FinSec Innovation Lab - Startup Accelerator by Mastercard was privileged to host the U.S. Embassy Jerusalem. We were honored to be joined by Ambassador Jacob J. Lew and members of his staff: Chistina Azar Deek, Kara Ambramson, Joelle Uzarski, and French Smith-O'Connor. At the outset of the meeting, we expressed our appreciation to the United States of America for its ironclad support for the Government of Israel. During the visit, we presented Mastercard's corporate strategy to a) expand in payments, b) extend our services, and c) embrace new networks. We also highlighted Mastercard's award winning ESG program entitled "Doing well, by doing good". We gave examples of these from Mastercard's activities in Israel. In the above context, we provided an overview of the Lab, highlighting the support that we give our portfolio startups and the Israeli Fintech and Cyber ecosystems. We elaborated on the relationship of the Lab to Mastercard's global programs in innovation (Mastercard Foundry / Start Path) and cybersecurity, We also discussed the resilience of the Israeli startup ecosystem in these challenging times. Finally, from one of the Lab's portfolio company's, Snir Levi, CEO presented Xplorisk's solution for Threat Management dedicated to the Web3 industry.
