𝐈𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: The trauma of 9/11 left deep emotional and psychological scars, not only for those directly affected but for an entire nation. Studies found that PTSD was the most common health effect of 9/11. Up to 20% of adults directly exposed to the disaster or injured in the attack had PTSD symptoms 5-6 years after the attack - four times the rate in the general population. Those who repeatedly witnessed the events on television and in newspapers were at greater risk of developing long-term psychological challenges. On this day, we honor the lives lost and the resilience of a nation. #NeverForget #911Day

At GMH we believe that mental health is as vital as physical health.   Despite advancements, barriers to accessing mental health care persist – even for insured Americans.   We applaud efforts aimed at making mental health care as accessible as physical health care.   Check out Lev Facher’s latest piece via STAT: https://lnkd.in/d6ScbjH9
