How exciting is it ? Well... It was initiated more than a year ago by DeserTech Israel Innovation Institute, when reality in Israel was a bit different. We had the chance to meet an amazing delegation coming from Sub Saharan Africa to Israel, trying to look for technologies to combat desertification under the #greatgreenwall initiative. Supported by the United Nations UN Convention to Combat Desertification we make our first baby steps in #Nigeria. New continent. New market to explore. New challenges, although similar to other places. New (amazing) partners, great people. New horizons. A lot of optimism in the air. NOF - Natural Offset Farming India Team participated at #MRDBS, Pune's #Annual #Grapes Conference in Pune (MH), to showcase our novel technology that can dramatically increase the shelf stability of Grapes in ambient conditions. 🍇🍇 Our stall was also attended by the #DCM of #Maharashtra , Shri. Ajit Pawar 🇮🇳🇮🇳 Kobbi Shoshani🇮🇱 Sagi Itcher Over the course of three days, the team engaged with #Grape’s farmers, #aggregators, distinguished scientists of national and international repute, wine associations and seasoned viticulturists. It was truly an enriching experience with insights, networking opportunities, and the chance to understand post harvest issues that grapes farmers are currently facing. We are glad to see the enthusiasm over NOF - Natural Offset Farming and the solution we are bringing to the region which will help grape farmers to expand their market reach in national and international markets. Why NOF - Natural Offset Farming #postharvest solution is an export enabler? When we've reached the #apricot growers in #Leh, #J&K, #India we were told that currently the fruits are consumed locally or being processed due to short #shelflife. 3-4 days are not enough to transport and sale in Delhi, however,6-7 days, are a whole different story. The goal was set: "Extend #shelflife for the exact number of days that will enable the farmer to transport and sell the fruit in the Delhi market" This how #postharvest technologies may affect the life of millions of farmers in remote areas - reaching new markets, getting paid more - and, contributing to local development of communities and economies.
