The study compared FRAME-supported autologous internal jugular vein grafts to unsupported vein grafts in a porcine carotid artery interposition model. At a 1-month follow-up, 100% of FRAME-supported grafts were patent, compared to 43% for the controls. FRAME-supported vein grafts also showed significantly fewer areas of stenosis and higher blood flow rates at explantation compared to the controls. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: "In our porcine model, the external mesh FRAME improved the patency of vein-to-carotid artery grafts and protected them from stenosis, particularly in the mid regions. The mid-graft neo-intimal hyperplasia was two-fold thinner in the meshed grafts than in the controls." https://lnkd.in/ghh57FZh CARDION #ExternalSupport #InnovationInHealthcare
Vascular Graft Solutions
Medical Equipment Manufacturing
A new standard in coronary and peripheral bypass surgeries, arterial reconstruction and arteriovenous fistula repair
About us
Vascular Graft Solutions (VGS), was founded in 2009 and is focusing on the development and commercialization of innovative solutions to improve the outcome of bypass surgeries. The company’s leading product, the VEST (Venous External Scaffolding Technology), is a novel external mechanical support for autologous vein grafts, intended for improving vein graft longevity. Pre-clinical and clinical studies confirmed that by restraining wall tension and improving lumen uniformity, the VEST optimizes vein graft hemodynamics and mitigates vein graft disease. Randomized controlled trials and real-world data studies in Europe, demonstrated the biomechanical effect of external stenting, its statistically significant mitigation of vein graft disease, and improved clinical outcomes.

🇪🇸 ¡Viva España! 🇪🇸 What an incredible week it has been for VEST - Venous External Support in Spain! Our journey started in Bilbao with insightful meetings at Hospital Universitario Basurto, followed by a meeting with the new chief, Dr. Alejandro Crespo de Hubsch. MD, at Hospital Universitario Cruces - OSI Ezkerraldea Enkarterri Cruces. Excitingly, Dr. Crespo is ready to perform his first VEST implantation! From Bilbao, we traveled to Barcelona for a department meeting at Hospital Can Ruti (Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol). It was a pleasure to meet with the new department chief, Dr. Elisabeth Berastegui, and her incredible team. They are enthusiastic about the latest VEST data and are committed to continuing their support, with more implants on the horizon. Immediately after the department meeting at Can Ruti, we rushed to the operating room at Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge, where Dr. Daniel Ortiz Berbel performed an off-pump 4xCABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) procedure. Lima to the LAD and three saphenous vein grafts (SVG's) to arterial targets, all three SVG’s were supported with VEST, and Flow/Pulsatility-Index results were great. Our journey in Spain has been filled with collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to advancing cardiovascular care. We're grateful for the warm welcome and look forward to furthering our partnerships across the country. Mercé V Electromedicina Carlos Sempere Santos Javier Arbona Castano @Maria Jose Landa
