There are many ways to tackle overtourism challenges. When we launched holidayheroes , our mission was simple: to make holiday booking easy and fun (finally 😉). With, already, over 100,000 travelers using our platform, we’ve realized our mission is even bigger. More than 65% of our users didn’t have a destination in mind initially, but our personalized feed helped them discover and book new places they hadn’t considered, less crowded and in most of the cases much cheaper. We’re proud to help address overtourism and promote responsible travel.

My 16-year-old daughter and my wife recently took a short trip to Lyon, France. Not the usual places like Paris, Amsterdam, or Barcelona—just Lyon. The main reason was to see Coldplay at Lyon Stadium, but the whole experience turned out to be amazing. My daughter planned the trip herself, picking out cool restaurants and hidden spots to visit. When she came back, she was so excited and said she can't wait to go back to Lyon because there are still so many things on her list to see and do. It’s interesting how the younger generation values experiences over material things and doesn’t mind exploring less popular destinations. They’re willing to spend more on creating memories, as I saw firsthand with my daughter. Travel is booming and it's one of the fastest-growing areas people are spending on. I believe it will keep growing, especially with Gen Z leading the way. There are ways to handle overtourism in big cities, and it seems like the new generation of travelers will show us how to travel better and more responsibly. So much opportunities ahead 🚀🚀🚀
