𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: The 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 technique of Direct Assessment (DA) remains an excellent 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥. It has been primarily utilized for assessing integrity of non-piggable lines, however, also remains a very effective complementary integrity validation tool for piggable lines, especially when the motivation is to understand the 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 of a pipeline.   Advanced DA programs of External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA), Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) and Stress Corrosion Cracking Direct Assessment (SCCDA) which are based on best practices have been applied successfully to 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 with a mandatory deliverable of determining of 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 for managing the corrosion rate. Case studies related to application of DA programs will be showcased for pipelines under below categories: - Onshore or offshore - With CP or without CP - Aging assets from 1940's or new pipelines yet to be commissioned (pre-FEED stage) - Piggable and non-piggable - Transporting products of gas, wet gas, crude oil, water, multiphase or refined products   The program will also cover, the advantages of integrating the DA programs within In-line Inspection (ILI), demonstrating how these programs can help pipeline owner’s overall integrity program and risk management. This DA program would also include 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, focusing on the theme of the event "𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬" 𝐚𝐧𝐝 "𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞" 𝐃𝐀 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 for the pipeline.
