About us
Apraava Energy is India's leading integrated energy solutions provider, jointly owned by the CLP Group —one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) —a global investment group. Founded in 2002, Apraava has evolved from being a single-asset company to a forward-looking, climate-conscious organisation. Our portfolio comprises 3,394+ MW of installed capacity which includes 1,200+ MW of wind and 250 MW of solar energy projects across seven states, a 1,320 MW coal-fired super critical power plant and two power transmission assets. We have also forayed into Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) business and will install ~4.7 million smart meters in Assam, Gujarat, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh. The company aims to invest in low-carbon growth areas, including renewable energy, power transmission and distribution, as well as other non-generation, customer-focused energy businesses. Apraava Energy is among the handful Indian power sector companies to commit to the SBTi and only the second in the sector to have them validated. We want to create a future that will accelerate India’s clean and green vision. We are committed to building a legacy that our future generations will cherish and nurture.

We are deeply moved by the incredible journey of Udyogini in Jhajjar—five years of courage, resilience and dreams taking flight. Seeing women not just build businesses but rewrite their futures and uplift their families fills us with pride. Our heartfelt gratitude to Humana People to People India and the teams putting their #EnergyInAction on the ground to make this possible. We remain committed to creating even greater opportunities for women and communities to thrive. #ApraavaEnergy #EnergyInAction
A few days ago, we marked five years of Udyogini in Jhajjar, a flagship project in partnership with Jhajjar Power Limited. This journey has been one of transformation, resilience, and empowerment, impacting over 3,000 women and their families. What makes this milestone even more remarkable is the rise of 350 women entrepreneurs—women who have not only built successful businesses but have also redefined financial independence in their households. Many have surpassed their spouse’s income and even engaged them in their ventures, breaking societal norms along the way. Entrepreneurs like Rajbala Ji, Pinky Ji, and many others have proudly showcased their products in corporate exhibitions, proving that given the right support, local women-led businesses can thrive. Launched in the challenging times of COVID, Udyogini has shaped futures across 12 villages. As we celebrate this journey, we are also looking ahead—expanding our efforts to enhance accessibility to maternal and child health services in the community. A huge thank you to our partners, teams, and the incredible women entrepreneurs who make this journey so inspiring! Here’s to many more years of impact and change. Meet Tejashree Rajguru, one of our remarkable #WomenOfAction, a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) at our Andhra Lake wind site in Maharashtra. Her journey is as inspiring as the winds that power our turbines. Tejashree’s passion for engineering took root early, but it was a book—"Three Thousand Stitches" by Sudha Murty—that reinforced her belief in resilience and persistence. Fast forward to today, she is scaling 76-meter wind turbines, breaking barriers, and carving her space in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her biggest lesson? Believe in yourself, embrace challenges, and never hesitate to break barriers. Learn more about Tejashree’s journey: https://lnkd.in/dsY_rvpP #ApraavaEnergy #EnergyInAction #AccelerateAction
