The Best Part of My Work ! I recently visited our upcoming project, Mahapragya International School in Ludhiana. And as usual, it was a refreshing experience! After working months on scaled drawings and 3D visuals, stepping into the actual space offers a whole new perspective. The thing about site visits is that the scale of the building sometimes takes you by surprise—what appears on paper can feel entirely different in reality. The experience is truly overwhelming. Most importantly the constructibility of a design gets tested during these visits. Contractors, vendors, and project managers present their set of challenges. Problem-solving becomes one of the most important agenda. Understanding the concerns of the project team and providing solutions based on consensus without diluting the design intent. Embracing these unexpected challenges with an open mind can sometimes lead to even better solutions than anticipated. We’re thrilled to see our design for a family residence featured on Amsterdam-based Archello! Described as ‘a nature-inspired home’, this residence is built to serve the modern lifestyle of a multi-generational family. Two apartments on separate floors are contained within a single villa, connected by a host of communal spaces. The design uses a wide palette of natural material – teak wood, travertine, marble and brass prime among them. Balconies and double-height spaces punctuate the home, creating open, breezy, and nature-connected vistas across the residence. Working across multiple scales and segments, incorporating greens into the design scheme is our top priority 🍀 Sometimes, the opportunity presents itself on a platter. Sometimes, we create it with rounds and rounds of design iteration and brief evolution. Each time, we work within site constraints and move the needle as far as it will go 📈 Plants can cool surfaces, improve air quality, and create healthier, more inviting spaces.
