Right from the start, build3 set out to be a different kind of company — one that not only celebrates profits but also purpose. A space where like-minded people come together to share their existence around minimalism, sustainability, wellness, and self-reliance. One of our most cherished dreams has been to build a small living community, with similarly aligned people, that creates impact startups. The goal of the community will be to unlock human potential at the deepest level possible while taking care of the environment. In our minds, the startup eco-ashram (as we like to call it) will be a place where equality coexists with abundance, pollution is a myth, self-sufficiency is a way of life, and people live harmoniously with nature. But as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. So while this dream takes shape, we’ve decided to lead mindful lives and do our best to make the world a better place. An informative article by Terry Turner prompted us to double down on a few conscious choices to reduce our carbon footprint, and here are some things we've decided to do — - Switch to LED Lights and rechargeable batteries because they use at least 75% less energy and last 25 times longer. - Turn off gadgets and appliances when not in use - Choose environment-friendly cleaning products and organic pest repellents. - Say no to single-use — plastic, cutlery, diapers, razors, all of it! - Carry reusable cloth bags and water bottles ALL THE TIME! (A trillion plastic bags are disposed of globally every year. Unthinkable, right?) - Carpool as much as possible. Simple, easy changes to live more harmoniously with the world around us! If you can think of any more ways we can do better, let us know in the comments.

In the ‘Story of More', Hope Jahren uses an interesting analogy to explain the amount of carbon in our atmosphere. 🌍 Imagine you have a bathtub filled with water to the brim. Think of the water as carbon emissions and the bathtub as our planet. Imagine, you forget to turn off the tap and the bathtub overflows. That's the unsettling state of the climate crisis today. Our planet is overflowing with carbon emissions and any measure to curb emissions seems futile. (Adaptation has entered the lexicon of climate scientists around the world) While there is no silver bullet solution to curb the climate change menace, Abhimanyu Rathi, the founder of RenewCred, might have a way to decelerate the pace of climate change. 🌱 Riding on the tailwinds of climate regulatory changes across the world, Abhimanyu has cleverly combined market forces with a robust technical framework to accurately measure the efficacy of carbon capture initiatives. In short, companies that are incentivised to offset their emissions will have a reliable way to do so via RenewCred. Let’s learn more about how Abhimanyu is building for profit AND purpose. 💡 #impact #startup #purpose https://lnkd.in/dGZ6-bwR

I help driven Founders become world-class CEOs — so their startup ‘gets better, as it gets bigger’ & they don't burnout // Share lessons from 321 Education (0→~100 team, 300,000 learners, 10yrs) & current Solopreneurship
"Where have you been, Gaurav?" In a cave, turning 15 years of Impact Startup insights → 15 hours of sessions. On Monday, we launch & I am excited AND nervous… When I started 321 Education as a ~25 year old, I struggled for 2 reasons: 1) We were trying to do something very new & difficult 2) I just didn’t know enough about building an Impact Startup The first was just a consequence of our ambitious mission & couldn’t be avoided. But 2nd could be fixed so I went about trying to do so. But most of the advice I got was: → Either cliche & obvious → Or confidently wrong → Or good sounding but unactionable And a big reason was that most of the people giving this advice had never built an Impact Startup themselves. So I turned to books, posts, talks by the best entrepreneurs I could find. As my friends know, I tried to read everything ever written on entrepreneurship (It was a lot of time in the cave 🙈) I came out with 2 realisations: (A) There were so many nuanced and brilliant insights available for every challenge that I was struggling with (B) Most of it was tailored to regular entrepreneurship & not adapted to Impact Entrepreneurship So in many ways my last 15 years have been an experiment in taking the best available insights on how to build successful startups and adapt it to Impact Startups. Impact Startup Academy, is me sharing with other Impact Entrepreneurs, my personal diary of notes (at last count I had ~400,000 words of notes) It’s created in partnership with build3 & has 3 aims: 1️⃣ Answer your Startup questions with the most evidence based yet synthesised & actionable insights. Everything from how to identify key problems, build a solution, find co-founders, create an innovative business model, validate with MVPs, crack sales & marketing, secure funding, build a team etc 2️⃣ Breakdown the playbook of the most innovative impact startups & organisations. From these inspirational founders and startups, I’ll help you pull out actionable insights that you can build into your startup 3️⃣ Give you a rockstar community to build with. 70+ people have already signed up and they include an incredible diversity of folks. The group includes an RBI associate, fitness coach, educator, comedian, backend engineer, Gates Foundation manager, and a digital marketer for brands like Disney+ Hotstar. I have built this course for me from 15 years ago: Idealistic, passionate, full of ideas (many of them wrong), unafraid to work hard & take on difficult problems, clear on WHAT I want to do, desperately seeking guidance on the HOW to do it. If this resonates, come join us. Details below.

An associate from RBI, a fitness coach & healer, an educator building a micro-school, a standup comedian & content creator, a backend engineer from a tech startup, a program manager with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a digital marketeer who works with brands like Disney+ Hotstar. What do you think all these people have in common? They're all aspiring to make waves in the world of impact with Purpose + Profit. And they're few of the many amazing, amazing participants who have joined Impact Startup Academy's Cohort 1 🎉 When we launched ISA a couple of weeks ago, we couldn't have imagined the lengths and breadths of diversity our first ever cohort would have! To share knowledge & inspiration to build a startup, to help founders avoid common startup mistakes, to help one find a community of impact-aligned people, and to show how one can marry purpose & profit, these were some of the reasons we built Impact Startup Academy, and it's incredible to see so many people who are passionate about it. Thank you to the lovely folks who have joined us on this ride ❤️ We're excited to start the cohort! p.s. Cohort 1 kicks off on Monday. Last day to register is Oct 6, 11:59 PM. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gAT8eyTb
