About us

This is the official LinkedIn channel of the Carlsberg Group. The Carlsberg Group was established in 1847 by brewer J.C. Jacobsen. J.C. Jacobsen was a true renaissance man. A believer in quality, research and serving the community, he shared his knowledge with fellow brewers. He looked to the future, prizing long-term growth over short-term gain. Today, Carlsberg Group is one of the leading brewery groups in the world, with a large portfolio of beer and other beverage brands. Our beer portfolio spans core beer brands, including local power brands and international premium brands, craft & speciality brands and alcohol-free brews. Our brands are enjoyed in more than 150 markets across Western Europe, Asia and Central & Eastern Europe, and we hold a number 1 or 2 position in more than 20 markets. We strive to brew better beers, today and tomorrow. Doing business responsibly and sustainably supports that purpose – and drives the efforts to deliver value for both our shareholders and the society. • "My advice for those in sustainability roles is clear: build strong alliances with finance." Our CFO Ulrica Fearn argues that ESG and finance are NOT separate worlds. "CFOs and finance teams are experts in managing risks, gauging investment opportunities, and ensuring our companies can navigate safely in often uncertain terrain," she says. "Truth be told, these are precisely the skill sets needed to accelerate and imbed ESG into decision-making processes." Learn more about her reasoning and dive into why embedding ESG into the business is important, anyway - a race to tap into trillions of dollars 😱 👇🏼

🌍 Exciting News! 💧 We have expanded our partnership with WaterAid India to support water conservation projects in communities surrounding Carlsberg breweries in three new Indian regions. The partnership now extends to 30 villages, known as Gram Panchayats, across West Bengal, Telangana, and Maharashtra, benefiting 51,000 individuals. This initiative involves active community participation, focusing on groundwater recharge, improved water-use efficiency, and sustainable water management practices. The program is expected to conserve over 320,000 m3 of water annually. Recognizing water as a key ingredient in brewing, we are committed to replenishing the same amount of water we consume at our breweries through off-site projects with local communities and ecosystems. Carlsberg India first partnered with WaterAid India in 2023 to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in Mysuru, Karnataka. The ongoing Mysuru project has already positively impacted over 34,000 individuals and is projected to replenish 85,000 m3 of water annually upon completion. “Our collaboration with WaterAid fosters a resilient future by promoting community-led water conservation efforts. Staying true to our philosophy of brewing for a better tomorrow, we are dedicated to building a lasting and sustainable future for the communities around our breweries,” says Nilesh Patel, Managing Director of Carlsberg India. 💡 Curious about where we are on our journey #TowardsZERO water waste? • At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158—roughly five generations from now—to reach full gender parity. This is according to data from the World Economic Forum. That’s why this year’s #IWD2025 theme, Accelerate Action, is a call to push for real, lasting change. Our CFO, Ulrica Fearn, shares: "Every day is an opportunity to value and respect the diversity of the people around us. International Women’s Day continues to allow us to both reflect and raise awareness about how far we’ve come—but also how much more we can achieve together." "It’s a chance to continue to ask tough questions, challenge biases, and ensure we drive for lasting change. Raising awareness around IWD is not just the right thing to do—it’s essential for sustainable growth and success!," she adds. To celebrate, over 300 of our employees have come together in a powerful visual statement of support for IWD. This video serves as a reminder that progress happens when we stand together. Here’s to all the incredible colleagues who inspire change every day and drive our growth 🙏🏼🍻 #IWD2025

  • The acquisition of Britvic plc will transform our UK business. The UK is a notoriously competitive market and consequently a notoriously difficult place to achieve scale. "We are now the leading integrated supplier of beer and soft drinks, and we intend to reap the benefits from combining beer and soft drinks across every aspect of the value chain, accelerating growth and further strengthening the profitability of the combined business," says Søren Brinck, our EVP of Western Europe. We also believe that we can also accelerate top-line #growth through higher sales and marketing investments. Cheers to growing in Western Europe!

  • We have seen growth in alcohol-free brews continuously for years and most recently saw a 6% growth in 2024. We clearly see a trend, especially among younger generations. As a result, we have introduced more than 60 new alcohol-free products within the past three years.       Our results reinforce this trend isn’t about young people rejecting beer. It shows people are proactively choosing the beer drinking occasion, with more moderation.     According to Nielsen, 78% of people purchasing alcohol-free brews, also purchase regular beer.     This dual purchasing practice is evidence of a consumer behaviour Gen-Z have called, "Zebra Stripping" - A phenomenon where people alternate between classic beer and alcohol-free brews, allowing them to enjoy the beer drinking occasion, with more moderation. Our marketing leans into this behaviour, often showing our flagship beers and their alcohol-free versions, side-by-side. We even have debuted products specifically designed to enable this type of behaviour, during iconic beer drinking occasions. One example: at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark this summer, our Jacobsen brewery served a “Day” and “Night” version of the same beer, with the “Day” version being AFB. #Growth #AlcoholFree

  • India. A booming, young population and a myriad of growth drivers.   Urbanization, rising incomes, more dining out, and more women choosing beer.   In short: India isn’t just a market for us—it’s momentum.    After many years of negotiations, we now have 100% ownership of the businesses in India and Nepal.    Having keys to the full business, unlocks opportunities.    With India being a growth market for us, we are all about capturing the growth opportunities.    Among many things, we intend to step up commercial and capex investment.   Take a look at the years venturing the beautiful country of India 👇🏼   #Growth

  • Historically, brewing has been a male-dominated field. But as times change, so do perspectives. Just like each ingredient comes together to create our beer, each unique individual also brings something special to our mix. Diverse teams bring fresh perspectives, equipping us to better understand and serve our consumers. We're currently building a #GrowthCulture where each employee is prepared to grow alongside the business. Growth Culture marks our journey into growth mode, enabling us to drive strong results while fostering a mindset that supports our ambitions. It is embedded in our DNA, driving us to pursue excellence, act with compassion, and empower each other to grow. With Growth Culture, we are building new strengths while staying true to the values that define Carlsberg. Cheers to every person at Carlsberg! 🍻
