Proud to be CHS certified, enabling us to serve communities with excellence and accountability.
Today, CHS Alliance's Coline Rapneau (PSEAH Manager_CPCC/PCC Coach) spoke at a roundtable on the #CAPSEAH Initiative: The Common Approach to Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment Confirmation. As one of the organisations who helped develop the approach, which incorporates the Core Humanitarian Standard, we are proud to be part of this joint action to tackle sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment. Coline shared: “CHS Alliance endorses the CAPSEAH initiatives and encourages our members to do the same. "Its strength lies in its ability to complement and reinforce the CHS accountability framework. It also fosters collaboration by bringing together various actors from the humanitarian, development and peacekeeping sectors, amplifying the impact of individual organisation and also promoting a unified and coordinated response across the sectors. "By aligning with CAPSEAH organisations benefit from sharing knowledge and learning, increasing advocacy and show a stronger commitment to protect people in communities from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.” Learn more 👇 https://lnkd.in/gpJzSdQb Thanks to all the organisations and people behind this important initiative: ICVA Secretariat Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Gamhewage, Gaya Christian Saunders World Health Organization

In Pakur district, Jharkhand, where the infant mortality rate soared to 52 per 1,000 live births, EFICOR became a beacon of hope through the Pakur Mother and Child Survival Project. This initiative aimed to transform a land of darkness and hopelessness into a thriving community by empowering local health workers. Sahiyyas visit homes daily to educate pregnant and nursing mothers about the importance of supplements, regular check-ups, antenatal care, newborn care, and immunizations. Traditionally, many women in Pakur preferred home deliveries, which posed significant risks. Sahiyyas’ role includes encouraging hospital deliveries and ensuring safer childbirth experiences. The project also fostered increased involvement of men and women in planning for children, nutrition during pregnancy, and other critical health issues. Anganwadi centers, essential to the project, provide basic healthcare, counseling, nutritional supplementation, education, and preschool activities. One of the project's highlights is the establishment of Nutrition Days in villages. These events serve as effective platforms for delivering primary health care and engaging communities that are often resistant to modern health practices. During these events, many children receive vital check-ups and vaccinations. The project’s impact is profound. It has trained health workers who now deliver improved medical services, enhancing maternal and child health care, breastfeeding practices, and responses to illnesses like malaria, diarrhoea, and pneumonia. As a result, the child mortality rate is expected to fall significantly. Essential healthcare services have reached 14,033 women aged 15-49 and 42,098 children between 0-23 months. The shift towards local medical facilities for childbirth has transformed the district's destiny. Women and babies now have access to crucial health care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, preventing countless deaths. EFICOR has provided hope, strength, and empowerment to tackle seemingly insurmountable challenges, bringing light to the Pakur district of Jharkhand. #maternalhealth #childhealth #InfantMortality #communityhealth #healthworkers #AntenatalCare #NewbornCare #Immunization #Anganwadi #Nutrition #Healthcare #ChildSurvival #RuralHealth #CommunityEmpowerment #HealthEducation #WomenHealth #Childbirth #HospitalDelivery #HealthInitiative #HealthcareAccess #MaternalCare #ChildCare #HealthProject

Happy World Environment Day to all our well-wishers and partners from EFICOR! Today we celebrate World Environment Day with a focus on Land Restoration, Desertification & drought resilience! More than one-fifth of the Earth’s land area, is degraded. This affects those who are least equipped to cope like the poor and marginal farmers. We are part of God’s creation and privileged to be part of the redemptive plan to harmonize and restore all things. May we continue to be restorers and protectors of God's good earth. #WED2024 #WorldEnvironmentDay #WorldEnvironmentDay2024 #GenerationRestoration #UNEP #landrestoration #desertification #climatechange #OurLandOurFuture
