  • 5 September- Teachers Day Dr Radhakrishnan believed “teachers should be the best minds in the country.” It is said that when Dr Radhakrishnan became the president, his students and friends urged him to celebrate his birthday. Known for his humble and modest nature, he implored, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers’ Day.” Since then, from 1962, his birthday has been observed as ‘Teacher’s Day’ in the country. India traditionally has another similar day to honour teachers, called the Guru Purnima, which usually falls in July and is based on the lunar calendar. • #grrf Special Day Update 3 September – World Skyscraper Day I stay in 9th Floor in an 11 floor building. I used to think that, I am living in a Skyscraper. As, I read about Skyscraper- a building, that has more floors than others in surroundings. With rapid urbanization and engineering skills, things have changed. These days, building / tower with 40+ floors are termed as Skyscraper. Skyscraper Day is held annually on September 3. Celebrate this day, by climbing or taking the elevator/lift up a skyscraper and by acknowledging the architectural and engineering feats that make such buildings possible. Historically, the world's tallest man-made structure was the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The early skyscraper was pioneered in Chicago with the 138 ft (42.1 m) Home Insurance Building in 1885. ‘PETRONAS Towers’ took the honors in 1998. Since then only 2 buildings have held the title: Taipei 101 in 2004 and Burj Khalifa in 2010. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the Middle East, China, and Southeast Asia have experienced booms in skyscraper construction. So where are you staying? Don't forget to mention your floor number in comment box. PS:- 150 millions are homeless globally. This day also reminds policy makers to look into it. Happy World Skyscraper Day! #grrf #skyscraper #home #homeless #homeloan #people #habitat #linkedin

  • #grrf Special Day Update First Anniversary of Aditya L1 Mission The Aditya-L1 mission is an Indian solar observatory at Lagrangian point L1, launched on September 2, 2023 by ISRO successfully. It inserted in its targeted halo orbit on January 6, 2024. Aditya L1 is the first space based Indian mission to study the Sun. The spacecraft was placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system, which is about 1.5 million km from the Earth. A satellite placed in the halo orbit around the L1 point has the major advantage of continuously viewing the Sun without any occultation / eclipses. This will provide a greater advantage of observing the solar activities and its effect on space weather in real time. It carries seven payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere and the outermost layers of the Sun (the corona) using electromagnetic and particle and magnetic field detectors. Using the special vantage point L1, four payloads directly view the Sun and the remaining three payloads carry out in-situ studies of particles and fields at the Lagrange point L1, thus providing important scientific studies of the propagatory effect of solar dynamics in the interplanetary medium. Happy First Anniversary of successful launch of Aditya L1! #grrf #space #spacecraft #ISRO #adityaL1 #indian #science #technology #linkedin
