BIS's training wing, NITS, organized a Two-Day Capacity Building Programme on Building Regulations for the Architects of the Department of Architecture, Government of Punjab, during 21-22 October 2024 at Chandigarh. The programme was attended by 23 architects, including the Chief Architect, who is keen on implementing the provisions of NBC and SP 73 in their projects. The participants appreciated BIS's efforts in organizing a free programme with a well-designed module tailored to their needs. An important suggestion from the team was to popularize BIS third-party certification, including compulsory BIS certification for certain building products, among architecture students and young practicing architects who play a crucial role in preparing specifications for building projects. These changes maintain the original meaning while making the text more concise and easier to read. #BIS #IndianStandards #Architecture #capacitybuilding #NITS
