About us
NABFOUNDATION is the new subsidiary of NABARD set up under Section 8 (Not For Profit) of Companies Act, 2013. The Foundation has been designed as a platform which will network, coordinate and collaborate with other organizations to execute developmental projects. The core activities undertaken by NABFOUNDATION are: • Rural income and livelihood generation • Sustainable agriculture and rural development • Natural resources management • Climate proofing of Indian agriculture • Skilling • Rural off-farm activities • Agri-marketing • Rural innovation • Gender sensitization • Micro finance • Water conservation • Financial inclusion. The foundation will make efforts to leverage technology to cut down costs, stress upon convergence in development planning and aim for collaborative financing from the very inception of project formulation to pursue the above focus areas.

Looms of Ladakh GI Pashmina and Ladakhi Sheepwool Shawls and Stoles Collection. Shop at https://lnkd.in/gM8K8ckf and support the efforts of the cooperative luxury fashion brand. The Ladakhi sheepwool collection arose primarily from the need to add value to the indigenous sheep wool, which was being undervalued and cast aside in the region’s Pashmina skilling industry. However, it was the Ladakhi sheep wool which was integral to the material culture of Ladakh. In the collection, we seek to redefine the sheep wool textiles, elevating them from their humble and utilitarian beginnings into something a little bit more sophisticated for the modern user. The objective is to balance value addition in Ladakhi sheepwool with Ladakh Pashmina in best interest for local pastoral ecology. In the quest for refinement, the team has been looking at the Tibetan-Ladakhi cultural sphere, spotting elements in native and trade textiles, traditional architecture and interiors, to create a new design language that is still rooted here with the land and the people. Elements such as the ubiquitous eternal knot (called Palpi), clouds (called Sin), longevity symbol (called Gyandum), flowers (called Mentok), etc. are laid out in minimal, neo-traditional layouts in classic colours. As a homage to the original ingenuity of the Ladakhis, the new designs are punctuated with the black and white ribbed stripes – a hallmark of the nomadic Challi textiles - fusing the past with the present and a glorious and exciting dream for the future. Creative Head Nishant Raj Production Head Padma Tashi with the Looms of Ladakh member owners have created this pioneering Ladakhi sheep wool collection. The designs are registered under the Design Registration Act. The pashmina collection is an enduring love at Looms of Ladakh for all things natural and classic. We seek to create modern heirlooms for the global connoisseur in Pashmina with a Ladakhi touch. The collection is entirely handspun and handwoven by the local Ladakhi woven. The yarns are dyed in natural colours such as madder, pomegranate, marigold, indigo, etc. The designs reflect the subdued, graphic sensibilities of natural Ladakhi wool textiles, rendered in a minimal folk aesthetic. We incorporate the warp-ribbed vertical stripes in different colour combinations in our designs, which is inspired by the nomadic Challi textiles of Changthang. Each shawl, stole feature dual tone braided borders which take cues from the traditional ‘Jau’ braided detailing of Skeraks – handwoven belt for menswear. https://lnkd.in/gM8K8ckf
