Happy to announce that we have been granted a patent titled "Process for enrichment of lithium Iron Phosphate obtained from spent Li-ion batteries"on regeneration of LFP obtained from spent LFP batteries. The work was done as a part of Masters thesis at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay by my student Mr. Sarthak Pattanayak currently working at Exide Group

I am happy to share that I received the Best Poster Award at the 2nd International Conference on Energy Conversion and Storage – 2025 (Wiley-IECS 2025) held at IIT Madras from 27-29th January 2025. My research, "Free-standing Porous Conductive Carbon Foam Electrode for Capacitive Deionization based Sustainable Water Purification," focused on the development of highly porous yet electrically conducting carbon electrodes for flow through capacitive deionization based water treatment. This research paves the way for reducing the use of traditional current collectors while making the system cost-effective. A huge thank you to the conference organizers, The Energy Consortium - IIT Madras , ECS-IITM Student chapter, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras for giving me the opportunity to present my work. We are delighted to share that Prof. Shobha Shukla was invited to deliver a lecture on “2D/3D Patterning using Photolithography for Semiconductor Devices” at the 30th One Day National Conference on SMART MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING TRENDS IN ENGINEERING AND APPLIED SCIENCE (SMTEAS) on March 1st, 2025. Prof. Shukla’s session emphasized the critical role of lithography techniques in developing next-generation semiconductor devices and highlighted the need for innovative research strategies to enhance device fabrication. I am happy to share that I received the Best Product-Based Research Award along with a cash prize at the 3rd International Conference on Higher Education Institutes: Challenges & Solutions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2024 held on 3-5 December 2024 in hybrid mode. My research, "Enhanced Absorption-Biodegradation of Motor Oil by Marine Bacteria Immobilized on Graphene-Based Foam," focused on SDG-6: Clean Water and Sanitation, tackling oil pollution through an innovative bio-nanotechnology approach. By leveraging marine bacteria immobilized on graphene-based foam, this work presents a sustainable solution for oil spill remediation and water purification. A huge thank you to the conference organizers, Prof. Paromita Chakraborty and team, SRMIST REACH, and the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) for giving me the opportunity to present my work. We are happy to share that Prof. Shobha Shukla was invited for a panel discussion at 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡—𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤, 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (FLOW Workshop), held at the Civil Engineering Department, IIT Bombay. The event, organized by the Centre for Climate Studies, IIT Bombay & Schmidt Sciences, brought together leading researchers and policymakers to discuss transformative approaches in water research. She moderated the session on 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, facilitating insightful discussions on emerging contaminants, sustainable water management, and the intersection of water quality with public health. The session highlighted the need for advanced research and policy-driven strategies to ensure safe and accessible water resources for all. Our latest publication! Delighted to share our latest research published in 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 (𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞), where we introduce a 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧-𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. By integrating nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon quantum dots (CQDs) onto exfoliated molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂), we have developed a rapid detection system with an impressive limit of detection (31 pM) and a response time of ≈90 seconds. This innovative 2D heterojunction leverages the synergistic interaction between CQDs and MoS₂ to enhance charge transfer efficiency, enabling precise mercury ion detection in both simulated water samples and real-world fish blood samples. The study underscores the potential of CQD-based nanocomposites for environmental monitoring and public health applications. Last week, we had privilege to host RSC global inclusion head Dr. Ale Palermo FRSC, Ms. Elizabeth Quinn Woods (Director of marketing and customer experience) and Ms. Sweta bhagat (Marketing and communication, RSC India) for an interactive session with the students of NEMO lab. Their insights into RSC’s fundamental structures, grants, and scholarships provided valuable guidance for young researchers looking to advance their careers. Last month, we had the privilege of hosting Prof. Samuel Ayodele Iwarere and Prof. Michael Daramola from the University of Pretoria , South Africa, who shared their expertise on sustainable technologies in water treatment and separation processes. Prof. Iwarere delivered an insightful talk on the 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲.
