In a recent feature on ThePrint, I spoke about how market-led models can work for farmers, despite early scepticism. Many believed that working directly at the farmgate wouldn’t be financially viable. But experience has shown otherwise. Farmers are keen to store their produce, access finance, and sell when prices are right- if the system is transparent and cost-effective. Today, Arya.ag aggregates 3% of India’s total grain production, providing farmers and FPOs with storage, finance, and market linkages. Our internal study found that 79% of farmers using our platform saw their incomes rise by at least 15-20%.
