"This trend of unspent CSR funds may signal an important shift in the CSR landscape. With recent regulatory amendments allowing the transfer of unspent funds to 'ongoing' projects and the carryover of funds for up to three years, companies are strategically rethinking their approach." "Many corporates are now prioritizing larger, long-term programs that promise more sustainable and lasting impact." India's social sector has seen a significant increase in capital flow, growing at an annual rate of 13% and reaching an impressive ₹23 lakh crore in FY 2023. According to the India Philanthropy Report by Bain & Company and Dasra, private philanthropy surged by 10%, amounting to ₹1.2 lakh crore. In our recently published report "The State of CSR in India 2014-23" (Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gTmR9nVy), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding emerged as a critical pillar of this growth. In FY 2022-23, #CSR expenditure reached around INR 30,000 crores — a 13% increase from the previous year, with more than half of the companies spending beyond the mandated amount. With this abundance of available capital, #nonprofits have tremendous potential to enhance their impact through strategic fundraising efforts. Meet us at #ICES2024 from October 17-18 to explore how non-profits can leverage data and strategic partnerships to maximise their #fundraising efforts. Arun Nathan and Santosh Abraham will also be attending from 16-18 October to connect and explore opportunities for collaboration. Visit indiacsrsummit.in/ to register.
