At Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, when my seniors asked me what my hobbies were, I scratched my head, could not figure out what to say and I told them “marathon running”. They all burst out laughing when I could not tell them what marathon meant. What I intended to say was “I loved running”. Later that year, when a few of my classmates challenged my running skills, I managed to finish 10 rounds of the Jnan Ghosh stadium @ KGP to prove myself. A few years after that, as I moved to the US, studied there and started working at Intel in sunny Arizona, that desire to run rekindled in me. I started running 4-mile loops close to our home every alternate day. I absolutely loved it and followed it up with running a few half marathons including the PF Chang’s Rock and Roll Marathon in Phoenix and the Rock & Roll San Jose Half Marathon. When I moved back to India and started building Sid's Farm, all the running went out of the window for many years. Several years into Sid's Farm, I ran the Airtel Hyderabad Half Marathon with my cousin Sunil and his friends. I found myself limping half the way. I thought probably age is catching up with me and gave up running for many years following that. Being diagnosed with high BP recently and the realization of not exercising all these years was a wake up call for me. I felt like not giving in to excuses anymore and finally started running/exercising again. My trainer Vikas has been powering me through my fitness journey in the last few months and it feels great to be back! That’s my story of running. What’s yours? Looking forward to hearing your stories at the Sid's Farm Hyderabad Health Run 2024. #rocknrollmarathon #hyderabadmarathon #hyderabadrunners #fitness #iitkgp
