Empowering painters by upskilling them and helping them create better livelihood opportunities. Berger Paints India has partnered with Smile Foundation for the iTrain on Wheels programme - an upskilling initiative aimed at honing the skills of aspiring and existing painters. This programme is helping develop a vast pool of skilled workforce, expand their employability opportunities, and help them build entrepreneurial skills. Since 2021, the iTrain on Wheels Programme has trained thousands of painters through mobile iTrain vans in 24 states over 100+ remote sites nationwide. My father was a welder, working hard to support our family. A few years ago, he became ill and had to stop working. This made life very difficult for us, especially when it came to paying for my education. Despite our struggles, I never gave up on my dreams. Education was my hope for a better future. My uncle stepped in and helped me finish my degree, which I am very grateful for. The real change came when I joined a livelihood training program at Smile Foundation. This training gave me the skills I needed to find a good job and also boosted my confidence. Now, I have a job, and I am helping my family move out of poverty. I have faith that soon we will overcome every challenge and will soon build a brighter future. Ramya was trained on BFSI and placed in a reputed firm in Bangalore. 83-year-old Doctor dedicates his life to tribal people of West Bengal’s Purulia. Letting go a comfortable career of a city doctor, Dr. Ramendra Tewari chose to dedicate his life to the tribal children and families living in some of the remotest villages in Purulia, West Bengal. Today, he heals them, educates them, and brings hope and compassion through medical care. #NationalDoctorsDay
