We felt grateful to visit these children and care for their health at Government Lower Primary School, Bengaluru. Many of them rarely get to see a doctor, and health problems like weakness, skin infections, and poor nutrition often go unnoticed. We checked them, gave free medicines, and shared simple tips with teachers and parents to help them stay healthy. More than anything, we wanted them to know they matter. Through Smile on Wheels, we bring healthcare to children who need it most—so they can grow up strong, play without worry, and dream without limits. “My husband works as a coolie and whatever he earns is just enough to put food on our plates. Going to a hospital for my Blood Pressure (BP) and cough problems was never an option—we simply couldn’t afford it. Then one day, these doctors and nurses arrived like a blessing at my doorstep. The doctors checked my BP carefully, monitored it and gave me the right medicines. They explained how salt affects my health, why I should drink more water and how a small daily walk can help me feel better. They also gave me syrup and tablets for my cough, making sure I understood when to take them. Every visit, they check on me, ask how I am feeling and adjust my medicines if needed.” We are pleased to have met Niranjan Devi through our Smile on Wheels mobile healthcare project in Hyderabad, and take care of her health. The Journey : Koshish se Kamyabi tak Under Honda India Foundation's Education program, implemented by Smile Foundation, we recently conducted a transformative workshop in Greater Noida. This workshop brought together government school principals, teachers, CBOs, and Honda supported educators, fostering a collaborative environment for sharing knowledge and innovative strategies to tackle classroom challenges. Highlights included: Practical insights on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) , An enriching session on Free Stress teaching by Art of Living These sessions equipped educators with the confidence and tools to create resilient learning environments. Children and families from 14 villages and urban underserved communities in Guwahati, Assam, are now receiving free healthcare services at their doorsteps. The Smile on Wheels mobile hospital project, with support from KONE, aims to deliver free preventive, promotive and curative services at the doorstep of over 15,000 individuals in a year. The villages reached include Garbhanga, Pamohi, Lalungaon, Beherbari, Lalmati, Basistha, Borpothar, Bhaskar nagar, Shiva nagar, Bishnupur, Bapuji nagar, Paltanbazar, Kamarkuchi and Tepesia. Working as daily wagers and farmers, the people in these locations relentlessly toil to feed their families and issues relating to their health often remain neglected.
