Key Highlights: 50% increase in total screen time per household due to the rise of hybrid viewing with Android boxes. Homes that once averaged 2.5 hours of daily TV viewing now spend 4.5 hours consuming both linear and digital content. The South is still the powerhouse of linear TV, with 75 million TV homes and an audience of 400 million. The region remains highly engaged, especially with General Entertainment Channels (GECs) and soap operas. Streaming and TV coexist, with viewers enjoying both episodic content on TV and binge-watching via streaming platforms. Krishnan also emphasized the importance of content quality and how South Indian content continues to expand beyond regional borders, influencing national and international markets.
