SAFETEMBER Process Safety and Risk Management Conference an excellent platform in India for sharing Best Practices related to Process Safety and getting in touch with field experts I was previleged to represent Galaxy Surfactants Limited for sharing our experience in field of Asset Integrity a crucial element of PSM "How Old are your Reactors?" This topic focused on API 579 Fitness-For-Service standard and how it has helped us in Proactively identifying abnormalities. Additionally I was also volunteering as a position of Advisory Commitment and Chair Session for the Conference. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our founder Mr. Kishore Mariwala. KVM, as he was fondly known, was a graduate of the University of Mumbai and MIT and a distinguished chemical engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. His expertise contributed significantly to the success of companies promoted by the Mariwala family, including The Bombay Oil Industries Ltd., Kancor Flavours & Extracts Ltd., Eternis Fine Chemicals Ltd., and Marico Ltd. His lifelong commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship led him to found Koyla-Ki Pvt. Ltd., a company with a mission to recover valuable by-products from agricultural waste. He served as the President of ICC (the Indian Chemical Council) and was honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his transformative contributions that helped elevate the Chemical Industry in India to global standards. Beyond his business ventures, Mr. Kishore Mariwala dedicated himself to philanthropy, actively supporting various non-profit organisations, with a particular focus on empowering women through education and vocational skill development in rural areas. He was an avid yachtsman, whose lifelong passion for sailing took him to destinations all across the Arabian sea. He will continue to inspire us all with his unwavering commitment to social causes and innovative solutions.
