His legacy has left a lasting impact on the Indian banking industry, but less known might be the impact on the Venture Capital industry, through TDICI / ICICI Venture, and VenturEast. To coin a cliché’, he was our philosopher, guide and most importantly he was our ‘friend’. Through ICICI Bank, he was instrumental in guiding a very transparent process in the 1990’s which culminated in the privatisation of APIDC Venture Capital Limited, and the de-facto birth of VenturEast. He contributed significantly through numerous committees and supervisory boards, including Chairing of Investment Committee of VenturEast funds for 17 productive years from 2003 to 2020. In loving memory of a great and noble soul, whose profound impact and unwavering kindness will forever be cherished.
