  • This year at Xiaomi India, we introduced Allyship Bingo, an initiative that encouraged employees to reflect on and actively participate in meaningful actions that support gender inclusion. Across the board, we saw overwhelming participation, with 90% of employees expressing gratitude to a woman who has supported them—a simple but powerful way to acknowledge the impact of mentorship and collaboration. Around 85% of participants spoke up confidently in meetings or encouraged a woman to do so, reinforcing the importance of amplifying diverse voices in decision-making spaces. Similarly, 80% actively supported a woman facing a difficult situation at work, demonstrating a culture of solidarity that goes beyond words and translates into real action. Looking at the data more closely, it’s clear that allyship takes different forms depending on perspective. Among the male participants, over 75% took steps to acknowledge unconscious bias in decision-making, showing a growing awareness of the systemic challenges women face. A significant percentage also advocated for paternity leave policies, recognizing that gender equality isn’t just about supporting women but also about creating balanced structures that benefit everyone. Additionally, men were more likely to ensure a woman’s opinion was heard in discussions, proactively creating space for diverse contributions. On the other hand, women at Xiaomi India displayed strong self-advocacy, with over 70% celebrating their own journey and encouraging other women to apply for leadership roles. This points to a shift where women are actively recognizing their achievements and pushing for greater representation at higher levels. Every small act—from amplifying a colleague’s idea in a meeting to calling out bias when it appears—adds up to create meaningful change. At Xiaomi India, we’re proud to see this culture of support growing stronger, and this is just the beginning. To celebrate this incredible participation, we also conducted a lucky draw, and we’re thrilled to congratulate Akanksha Gupta, Balasubramanian Venkatraman, Gaurav Tiwari, and Hilsa Dhar as the winners! Let’s keep the momentum going because real inclusion happens when allyship becomes second nature. #AllyshipInAction #WomenAtXiaomi #Inclusion #Leadership #Equity #WomensEmpowerment #XiaomiIndia

A Women’s Day to Remember at Xiaomi India At Xiaomi, we believe in celebrating Women’s Day with meaningful conversations—and this year, we had the privilege of hosting an inspiring session with Swayta Murarka She began with a thought-provoking question: What does Women’s Day truly mean? Why do we celebrate it? This wasn’t just another talk—it was an interactive session that made us pause, reflect, and engage. As she shared her journey, we witnessed the story of a girl who grew up in a society where a male child was often preferred—but she was determined to challenge the norm. She thrived in an industry with little diversity, carving her space in the fast-paced world of investment banking. She had to be an outlier. But Swayta didn’t stop there. She built a Diversity & Inclusion network, emphasizing why representation matters. She backed it up with hard-hitting facts: 📌 Companies with greater diversity see 25% higher profitability 📌 Yet, only 10% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. The session wasn’t just about listening—it was about self-reflection. She asked us to map our skills and passions using a simple yet powerful framework: • What am I good at and love doing? • What am I good at but don’t enjoy? • What do I love but need to improve on? • What neither excites me nor benefits me? She left us with impactful takeaways: 🔹 "You don’t have to be great to start, but you need to start to be great." 🔹 "Never give up before you actually need to give up." 🔹 "Change is growth—embrace it." 🔹 "Unconscious bias x conscious decision-making = real progress." She also addressed biases and stereotypes women face and how to tackle them: • Call out behavior that doesn’t feel right. • Build allies—or let others help you when you need it. • Step back when overwhelmed, but never step down. Before closing, she narrated a powerful story: A man burdened with worries approached a wise guide. The guide handed him a handful of salt and asked him to stir it into a glass of water and drink it. The taste? Bitter. Frustrating. Then, the guide took him to a lake and asked him to do the same. This time, the water tasted just fine. "The problems in your life are like salt," the guide explained. "Their intensity doesn’t change. But where you choose to dissolve them— in a small glass or a vast lake—that’s up to you. Expand your perspective, and the bitterness fades." And that’s exactly what this session at Xiaomi was all about—expanding perspectives, challenging biases, and fostering a growth mindset. Let’s not just have conversations—let’s transform them into action. #WomensDay #Leadership #GrowthMindset #DiversityAndInclusion #XiaomiIndia #BreakTheBias
