At Godrej DEI Lab, Yukta Chaudhari highlights the importance of having more women in leadership positions. Even though women's insights and experiences are essential for creating better workplaces, they face unique challenges and structural barriers in their working life. One result of this is that women's representation in leadership lags far behind that of men, and is unrepresentative of their contribution to workplaces, the economy, and society. In India, only 1.8% of Fortune 500 companies have boards with at least three women directors, and just 1.6% of MDs and CEOs are women. Even among Fortune 1000 companies, only 3.2% are led by women MDs/CEOs (Source: LinkedIn Economic Graph). When we increase the number of women leaders, we not only empower individuals but also make our businesses stronger and better positioned to succeed. What changes have you noticed in your workplace regarding women in leadership? Let’s keep the conversation going! While you've been soaking up the excitement of the T20 Women’s World Cup in the UAE, here's an incredible cricketing story from closer home: Gujarat’s Deaf and Mute women's team recently won the T-10 Deaf Women's Cricket Tournament in Aligarh. We've loved learning about them and their work through this triumph. Their coach, Imran Sheikh, former captain of the Indian Deaf cricket team, coached the team virtually through sign language videos, explaining key techniques in bowling, batting, and fielding. The videos were shared over WhatsApp! It allowed players from different cities like Vadodara, Surat, Chhota Udepur, and Palanpur to train remotely. We find this beyond cool in terms of creating accessibility and opportunity. This year has thrown up some stark moments for inclusivity in sports -- we're still not over the gender kerfuffle at the Olympics -- so this feels like a bright spot. We hope the Gujarat team's victory encourages more discussions around inclusivity in sports and helps pave the way for more opportunities for PwD athletes in cricket. We all deserve chances to excel -- and to have fun on the field! 🙌 #pwd #PWDinSports #DiversityandInclusion #InclusiveSports Parmesh Shahani | Indian Deaf Cricket Association | The Times Of India | Roma Balwani | PAAVAN PREET MALHOTRA | Rajeev Anand Kushwah | Supriya Nair | Maira Q. | Zoya (They / Them) | Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dK3taE7A
