As the holiday season approaches, FÓLK x YUZU Studio invite you to rethink our cherished traditions. While gift-giving brings joy, traditional wrapping often creates waste. Join us in exploring a mindful alternative: the Japanese art of Furoshiki, guided by YUZU Studio.  The Japanese art of Furoshiki is an elegant, eco-friendly gift-wrapping technique using beautiful leftover textiles instead of paper. Guided by Nicole Grünfeld, founder of YUZU Studio, you’ll explore folding and tying methods to create stunning, waste-free gift wraps that add a personal touch to each present.  FÓLK and YUZU Studio share a mission to embrace sustainable living through beautiful design. Together, we’re excited to offer an experience that blends artistry, sustainability, and tradition. Sign up through the link in the event 🎄

Thank you for mentioning us and our Airbags. We are looking forward to continuing on the path of upcycling in an efficient way for a brighter future 🌱

For næsten 25 år siden skrev jeg min PhD om "Modernisation of Environmental Regulations. End-of-Life Vehicle Regulations in the Netherlands and Denmark". #Improvetomorrow

Áhugavert viðtal fyrir alla þá sem eru að spá í nýsköpun og alþjóðlega markaði. Það hefur verið virkilega gaman að fylgjast með FÓLK Reykjavik undanfarin ár. Ragna Sara hefur nýtt vörkmerkjanálgun í hönnun, haft skýra sýn og frá upphafi verið með alþjóðlegan fókus og hugsað stórt. 👏

Today we want to turn the spotlight on VELUX and their Living Places initiative where they’re showing the world that building sustainably is possible now – not someday in the future 🌱   Living Places Copenhagen proves that healthy, scalable, and affordable homes can be created with a drastically reduced carbon footprint. It’s inspiring to see how companies like VELUX are paving the way forward for a better building industry and, ultimately, a better world 🏡 We're also excited to share that the Airbag, a product that embodies our commitment to circular design, can be seen in this initiative as beautiful home decor. Created in collaboration with Flétta and featured in Living Places, the Airbag pillows are made from upcycled materials and demonstrate how waste can be turned into something beautiful and useful.  We’re honoured to be part of a community pushing the boundaries of sustainable design. Check out Velux’s Living Places https://lnkd.in/epJp_wv3 and our collection of circular interiors at folkreykjavik.com

Imagine if we could make everything from waste materials... …at FÓLK we are showing that it’s possible! This is the tagline of FÓLK’s exhibition at 3daysofdesign where FÓLK proudly exhibited 6 circular collections of interior products from 5 waste streams Our vision is to accelerate the green transition, and we believe it is important for us to change for the better. Only around 10% of the EU is circular, and 4% in Denmark. This means that more than 90% of materials are only used once in these economies. The sad thing is that many products have a very short lifetime before they are burned or put in a landfill. This is why we emphasize circularity and durability in all our products and packaging. Do you also think this is important and possible? Browse through our catalog of new upcycled and recycled products, made from waste and tell us what you think 💡   NAVET, Marcus Götschl, Flétta, Theodora Alfredsdottir, Tinna Gunnarsdottir #circularity #circulardesign #sustainability #designstartup
