OHB Sweden took part in the Swedish Space delegation visit to India joining the Swedish-India Space Industry day at ISRO and discussing cooperation with a lot of potential industry partners in India. So interesting to meet with and visit both experienced space companies and very impressive startups! We look forward to continue our contacts!
Yesterday was a historic day for relations between Sweden and India in the space sector 🇸🇪 🇮🇳 Business Sweden in India is this week hosting the first Swedish Space Delegation to India together with 9 Swedish space companies, Sweden’s National Space Agency and the Swedish Space Corporation. We started Day 1 with a successful bilateral meeting between Mr. Håkan Jevrell, Sweden's State Secretary (Deputy Minister) for Foreign Trade, Mr. Jan Thesleff, Ambassador of Sweden to India, Dr. Somanath S, Chairman of ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director, Promotion Directorate, Indian National Space Promotion, and Authorisation Centre ( IN-SPACe along space agencies and Team Sweden. Business Sweden in collaboration with @IN-SPACe organized the first India-Sweden Industry Space day where the Swedish companies Algoryx, ECAPS, Höganäs AB, Spacemetric AB, SiriAB GmbH, OHB SE, Nanovac AB, Alleima and SSC - Swedish Space Corporation presented their cutting-edge technologies, relations with national and international space agencies and potential collaboration areas. We also took part of impressive presentations from 10 Indian companies showcasing their capabilities in space. The level of engagement from both sides has set a strong foundation for future industry engagements. The day was concluded with a visit to ISRO ISTRAC centre to get a glimpse of India’s capabilities in space telemetric and space situational awareness which is keeping space launch mission and assets safe. We are incredibly impressed by the visits today to Tata Elxsi and Indian Start-up companies Pixxel and Bellatrix Aerospace, and will tomorrow be visiting Ananth Technologies, before heading to New Delhi. Thank you for great team work Markus Lundgren | Per-Arne Wikström | Geeny George Shaju | Ludvig Hermansson | Pritam Singh | Anjali Bhola | Ankit Tiwari and Victor Öman

#ArcticWeatherSatellite captures images of storm Boris Arctic Weather Satellite, which was launched a month ago, is still being tested in orbit for system functionality. However, we can already see the potential usefulness of the data that it can provide. The European Space Agency - ESA has published some animations and pictures from AWS in this link: https://lnkd.in/et4kG7vm As Prime Contractor for Arctic Weather Satellite we at OHB Sweden we are extremely proud of this achievement. We hope for a lot more to come.

The first image from the Arctic Weather Satellite European Space Agency - ESA's Arctic Weather Satellite was successfully launched on August 16th from Vandenberg, California OHB Sweden is the mission prime and is currently conducting the initial check-out of the satellite together with KSAT – Kongsberg Satellite Services from their facilities in Tromsö. As part of the satellite preparations for its mission, the microwave radiometer was briefly turned on for a functional check. Even though the data is preliminary, the results, uncorrected for artefacts, are promising. The image below was generated by the instrument, provided by AAC Clyde Space / Omnisys and processed by Deimos Engenharia/RDA - Research and Development in Aerospace GmbH. Going forward, an orbit transfer period is planned to adjust the orbit. Subsequently, the instrument will be commissioned during a longer time period, and data evaluated. So far so good!! #ESA #ohbsweden #ArcticWeatherSatellite #ohb

We are next in line...🚀 After so much work, by so many talented, hard working people, at so many great companies, it's finally crunch time. We are very much looking forward to the launch of Arctic Weather Satellite Friday evening (CEST) August 16. AWS is an important pre-cursor to "nowcasting" weather over the poles and elsewhere on earth, and to better understand climate change. https://lnkd.in/dGYAEmV2 #launch #soon #ESA #OHB #Sweden #InnoSat #Sterna

Why is AWS so important? The European Space Agency - ESA clearly explains its expected impact in this nice movie. We are proud to have contributed to this mission as the overall mission prime and showcasing our InnoSat low-cost and in-time approach developed over the past decades into this high-profile ESA mission. As ESA highlights, our "newspace" approach is not only about the actual hardware or software, it is a product philosophy and management approach together with the Customer which allows rapid decision making on both sides. #AWS #launch #soon #ESA #OHB #Sweden #InnoSat #Sterna

On the 1.08.24 we had the pleasure and honor to have Jean-Jacques Dordain, among others former ESA General Director and current Chairman of Satlantis, visiting us in Kista. It was the opportunity to show him the GARAI A satellite, the fruit of the cooperation between Satlantis, our customer, and OHB Sweden. GARAI A is first of a series of commercial earth observation satellites with multi-spectral cameras of Satlantis with a resolution of up to 80 cm. This dual use highly capable satellite can fulfill several types of missions in the security and defense area and will be launched this autumn. #OHB #Sweden #Satlantis #InnoSat #Defence #smallsat
