🌍 Today we celebrate World Refrigeration Day 2024! This year's theme, "Temperature Matters," highlights the crucial role of temperature control for human comfort and environmental  sustainability. This day is especially significant as it coincides with the bicentennial of Lord Kelvin's birth, a pioneer of thermodynamics whose discoveries revolutionized the field of refrigeration. At ACS, we are proud to say that our history began with refrigeration! In the spring of 1932 the founder Giuseppe Angelantoni started in Milan the long journey of his career in cold technology. He probably did not imagine then that almost 90 years later his name would become an expression of world leadership in cold engineering and environmental testing. While one of the company of the Angelantoni Group , TurboAlgor, is specifically dedicated to the energy efficiency in industrial refrigeration, all the Group’s companies operate with a specific commitment to protecting the environment and sustainability is their core value. Angelantoni Test Technologies has always been committed to transitioning towards a greener future. For over 70 years, we have developed innovative environmental test chambers that simulate extreme conditions, and our R&D Department has constantly worked with Universities and Research Centres to find eco-friendly solutions in the use of refrigerant gases. Our worldwide recognized results are the ecological gases like R472A and the most recent R472B having a Global Warming Potential of 526 - that is about 96% lower than other gases used for ULT applications such as R23 and 508b - to get to the latest solution we have developed, based only on CO2 (R744) with a GWP equal to 1.
