DAFRAM S.p.A., founded in 1956, was the first company to manufacture floating ball valves in Italy. The long experience gathered during more than 50 years of activity ensures DAFRAM is one of the most famous and competitive companies in the world. DAFRAM's factory is located in Urbisaglia (Macerata), the centre of Italy in an industrial complex covering 32.000 square meters, 12.000 of which are covered workshops. The factory consists of commercial, technical and engineering offices and of two extremely modern workshops, the latest of which, 4200 square meters, 10 meters high, completed in February 2008, allows the production, assembly, testing, sandblasting and painting of ball valves up to extremely large sizes and weights. In 2010, considering the great importance of Chinese market, DAFRAM opened a brand new Representative Office in Beijing in order to make business contacts easier and to assure its Chinese Customers qualified and fast technical support. The DAFRAM design and production staff includes highly qualified engineers with a long experince in all technical standards and in meeting customer's special requirements. Modern design methods are employed to analyse specific stresses and deformation limits of valve bodies and main valve components. The manufacturing process is continuosly improved and changed using the most advanced manufacturing technologies such as: multi-function machining centres and several computer controlled lathes. Special testing centers are used for testing all products and are specifically used for high pressure and large size TRUNNION MOUNTED valves. Both vertical and horizontal testing machines as well as equipments used to determinate valve operating torques, to test valves at low and high temperatures, allow DAFRAM's prototypes to be checked and verified on site and 100% of production to be tested, checked and certified before leaving DAFRAM's plant.

IVS 2024 – Energy Transition, Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage May, Wednesday 15th at 2.40 PM Valves for CCUS applications: an overview of challenges and solutions for on-off and control valves in CO2 service M.Sparisci, P.Perroni, A.Borgognoni DAFRAM S.p.A Register at https://lnkd.in/dP7tKGrn Energy Transition, Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage CCUS is one of the most important strategies for carbon emissions abatement as projects related to CCUS are expected to provide a very significant contribution to achieve the target of Net Zero Emissions Scenario worldwide. Implementation of CCUS strategy involves the capture of CO2 from large sources like power generation by fossil or bio-mass based fuels or industrial processes like cement, steel or glass factories. Then CO2 compression and transport are performed to allow storage in geological formations like depleted wells or saline aquifers. For all the related operations, CO2 handling implies some very significant challenges for piping elements and equipment in general: metallic materials are exposed to corrosion as CO2 readily dissolves in water to form carbonic acidic solutions and impurities are typically corrosive agents as well, so that resulting corrosion rates can even reach some millimetres per month. CO2 is affecting also soft materials because of its remarkable solvent capacity that increase with pressure and temperature (e.g. supercritical CO2 or dense phase state). In addition, swelling and decrease of resistance to rapid decompression are occurring because of the interaction of CO2 with the polymers matrix. Moreover in case of cryogenic conditions needed to handle liquid CO2 (e.g. for compression or storage), remarkable loss of elasticity and volume shrinkage of polymers shall be expected. #IVS #Hydrogen #Sustanaibility #AI #JIP 33 #Valves #ESG #CSRD
