Enrico Vanino, professor at University of Sheffield and visiting professor at DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti" gives the lecture “Renewable energy transition and the local economic development of lagging-behind regions” presenting his interesting work “local economic effects of renewable energy: evidence from offshore wind energy in the UK”, developed in collaboration with T. Siddall. Their study shows that offshore wind energy investments can have positive impacts on occupational levels and new entrepreneurship, beypnd the generalized energy cost reduction, contributing to the open debate on benefits of renewable energy solutions. #deams #centenaryseminars #units100 #deams100 #renewableenergy

Accurate and constantly updated demand planning is crucial to the successful management of a complex yet efficient supply chain such as that of illycaffè. Ilaria Penso and Andrea Fabro shared with the students of #SustainableTransportLogistics at DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti" the key ingredients to monitor and improve the performance of Illycaffè's worldwide integrated #SupplyChain. We would like to thank both speakers for their stimulating and inspiring presentations.

Sustainable and efficient #WasteManagement: a challenging goal that AcegasApsAmga has successfully achieved, as Agnese Davia explained during the seminar organised by Prof. Lucia Rotaris and #GianluigiGallenti for DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti" students. We studied the #regulatory framework, but also the #economic, #operational and #logistics strategies used by AcegasApsAmga S.p.A. to meet the high-quality standards required by the market, while increasing the amount of waste #recycled and improving the environmental #sustainability of such a fundamental public service. Coordinating the #ShipbuildingSupplyChain is a real challenge! FINCANTIERI shared with the students of the #SustainableTransportAndLogistics course taught by Prof. Lucia Rotaris at DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti" how to manage such a complex system smoothly and efficiently. Un importante evento oggi all’Università degli Studi di Trieste per i nostri studenti e studentesse del Deams… ‘Riscoprire il ruolo del dottore commercialista tra futuro e innovazione’… una full immersion organizzata per noi dall’Ordine dei Dottori commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili di Trieste su una professione molto ampia ma anche molto specializzata, che negli ultimi anni ha visto una forte innovazione e oggi offre grandi opportunità professionali ai nostri giovani. The visit to the Ovaro hydroelectric plant and the Sutrio biomass plant enabled the students of the DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti" course in Environmental and Resource Economics to understand the importance of #RENEWABLE #ENERGY for environmental sustainability in #INNER AREAS. Michele Straulino's guidance was crucial in understanding the potential, but also the risks, of a virtuous business model such as that of SERVEL MERA srl.

Innovations in #TECHNOLOGY and #LOGISTICS play a crucial role in reducing the environmental impact of #MARITIME transport. I'm very grateful to Stefano Tonelli for introducing the students of Sustainable Transport and Logistics (DEAMS - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali, Matematiche e Statistiche "Bruno de Finetti") to the successful projects developed by Wärtsilä Italia S.p.A. in these areas.
