Final stage of the Call4Innovation by Basilicata Open LAB Kicked off in March by Eni Joule, Eni's school for Enterprise, and PoliHub - Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator, the Call4Innovation has been all about matching startups with innovative teams. After winning an award in May with the startup Pipein, DG Impianti is thrilled to announce a major milestone: we've successfully wrapped up the PoC Design phase! We've been testing out some cutting-edge solutions to tackle one of the biggest challenges in our field: monitoring aqueducts for preventive maintenance to cut down on water losses. With advanced tech like GPS, laser scanners, photogrammetry, drones, and robots, DG Impianti, along with Pipein and TAKE OVER rilievi integrati srl , can now monitor and analyze water networks more effectively, combining data from both inside and outside the pipelines. This is just the beginning of a new era in aqueduct diagnostics: we're ready to make a difference.

Le Sfide della Sostenibilità: Nuove opportunità per le imprese Pugliesi DG IMPIANTI INDUSTRIALI ha partecipato con entusiasmo all'evento "Le Sfide della Sostenibilità: Nuove opportunità per le imprese Pugliesi", tenutosi a Taranto, presso il Salina Hotel, con il patrocinio della Regione Puglia. E’ stata una occasione per confrontarsi sulle strategie di crescita sostenibile presentando soluzioni all'avanguardia. Insieme a TotalEnergies, abbiamo illustrato il progetto innovativo “Ground flare recovery system”: un sistema ideato per ridurre le emissioni atmosferiche da impianti industriali in modo sostenibile. Questa occasione ci ha permesso di sottolineare quanto sia cruciale e realizzabile “essere sostenibili”, grazie allo sviluppo tecnologico ed alla visione e supporto di grandi aziende che condividono l'impegno per un futuro eco-sostenibile. Sta tornando a Taranto il Re-think Circular Economy Forum, che si svolgerà a Taranto il 2, 3 e 4 ottobre 2024. L'ultima giornata si aprirà con l'intervento di Rodolfo Sardone, Direttore Scientifico Progetto Calliope e Dirigente Tecnico ASL TARANTO, dal titolo "Dal One Health al Urban Health: La città di Taranto come un laboratorio vivente per migliorare il benessere dell’ecosistema". Seguirà una sezione dedicata alla Valorizzazione dei materiali e dei residui, con l'intervento di Riccardo Tuffi, PhD ricercatore presso il laboratorio Tecnologie per Rifiuti e Materie Prime Seconde, che presenterà lo speech "Infrastrutture di ricerca ENEA per il recupero e la valorizzazione dei materiali dai rifiuti plastici". A seguire Claudia Vitone, Professoressa Ordinaria di Geotecnica al Politecnico di Bari, presenterà il suo intervento dal titolo "Quando i sedimenti marini dragati incontrano i gusci di mitili: una storia di ingegneria da raccontare". Seguirà lo speech di Giuditta Vannucci, Head of Circular Economy per Versalis, intitolato "Tecnologie di riciclo di plastiche e gomme complementari per raggiungere la piena circolarità dei prodotti". In seguito, Leonardo Castellano, HSE Manager - RSPP per ITELYUM, interverrà con lo speech "Progetti di recupero dell’olio esausto". Seguirà l'intervento di rosario meo, Capitano di Vascello del Corpo delle Capitanerie di porto della Guardia Costiera, Comandante del porto e Capo del Compartimento Marittimo di Taranto, "Gli aspetti patologici della gestione dei rifiuti con Capitaneria di Porto di Taranto". In seguito interverrà Ilaria Giannoccaro, Professoressa Ordinaria del Dipartimento di Meccanica Matematica Management al Politecnico di Bari, con lo speech "Modelli di business circolari e orientati al consumatore". La sezione proseguirà con l'intervento di Bruno Notarnicola, Professore Ordinario di Scienze Merceologiche all'Università degli Studi di Bari, "Necessità di una metrica per quantificare la sostenibilità derivante dalla valorizzazione di materiali e residui: il ruolo della LCA". Seguirà l'intervento di Simona Giuliano, Procurement & Sustainability Manager di DG Impianti Industriali S.p.A., "La gestione del fine vita dei pannelli fotovoltaici". In seguito interverrà Luca Lazzaro, Presidente di Confagricoltura Puglia, con lo speech "Dal residuo alla risorsa: strategie per un'agricoltura rigenerativa e circolare". Seguirà Luigi Di Bitonto, Ricercatore per il CNR-IRSA, intitolato "Ideazione e sviluppo di processi sostenibili per il recupero di Biomasse residuali per la produzione di nuovi materiali". Infine, la sessione si concluderà con l'intervento di Isabella Pisano, Delegato Terza Missione Dipartimento di Bioscienze, Biotecnologie e Ambiente, Presidente Centro di Eccellenza per la Sostenibilità per l'Università degli Studi di Bari, intitolato "Studio di fattibilità e analisi tecno-economica per la valorizzazione biotecnologica a cascata degli scarti lattiero caseari in ottica bioeconomia circolare".

With the growing use of photovoltaic panels, addressing their end-of-life has become increasingly urgent. To tackle this, DG Impianti has partnered with SWE, a spin-off from the University of L’Aquila, and BFC, a company experienced in the design of hydrometallurgical chemical plants. Through this collaboration, we are proud to introduce 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼-𝗣𝗩, an innovative plant based on 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 that recovers copper, silicon, and silver from 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀. With the October launch approaching, DG Impianti and the start-up Pipein have already begun preparations, including a recent site inspection in Missanello for their 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. The service includes: - 3D reconstruction using drone laser telemetry - Internal photogrammetry with ROVs Once validated through field tests, the Aqueduct Inspection Service can be applied to active pipelines and tunnels, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the infrastructure. Water is a precious resource, and its protection and availability are a priority. DG Impianti, in partnership with Pipein | Deep Diagnostic Robotics, has been recognized as one of the six winning teams in the 2024 Call4Innovation by Basilicata Open LAB, powered by Eni through Joule and in collaboration with PoliHub - Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator. PIPEIN, a deep tech startup, has developed an advanced robotic diagnostic and sensor platform that revolutionizes the health assessment of water transport pipelines, enabling predictive maintenance of networks. Our collaborative efforts include pilot testing on a decommissioned section of the Acquedotto Pugliese SpA Pugliese, utilizing drone laser telemetry and ROV internal photogrammetry to determine the residual thickness and potential deformations of the conduit. The ultimate goal is to validate the feasibility of developing a complete 3D digital model of the pipeline section, merging point clouds generated by drones and ROVs.
