🔋 Today, the prominent Italian newspaper IL MESSAGGERO offers an in-depth analysis of Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage (#MGTES). #Magaldi technologies represent a significant step forward for industrial #decarbonization, being at the center of the sector's new challenges. This June, #MGTES will come into operation at the #IGI plant in Buccino. Once fully operational, the system - built in collaboration with @EnelX - will reduce the plant's natural gas consumption by approximately 15%. Yet, traditional conveyor systems often face challenges like heat loss and operational inefficiencies. Magaldi has developed a game-changing solution: the #Ecobelt® DRI conveyor, a fully enclosed and thermally insulated conveyor system that not only enhances process efficiency but also maximizes the energy value of hot DRI, setting new standards in sustainable steel production. We are proud to have participated in MECSPE 2025 in Bologna, where @Lorenzo Romagnoli, Power Application Energy of Magaldi Power SpA, presented the advantages of #MGTES (Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage) technology and the innovative #MANTEIA project. MGTES represents an innovative solution for thermal energy storage, based on a fluidised bed of sand capable of storing electricity from renewable sources and releasing it as green heat at high temperature, even 24/7. A key technology for industrial #decarbonization and energy efficiency in sectors such as manufacturing, food, chemicals, and many others. MANTEIA, realised in collaboration with Meditech - Competence Center and financed with PNRR funds, is an innovative project that applies Artificial Intelligence techniques to thermal storage management by developing an advanced early fault detection system to optimise the performance and reliability of MGTES technology.
