Our Andrea Soldatini and Alberto De Ros are enjoying the vibrant atmosphere in Hangzhou as well as the excellent program and organization at the 2024 #AIPPI World Congress. It’s great, as always, to learn, share and meet colleagues and friends from the whole world. But beyond that, what’s really impressive here is the level of importance and meaning China has attached to this event and the prominence it has been given, not only through extensive coverage on national media. Chinese President Xi Jinping himself has sent a congratulatory letter to the event’s organizers, stressing the value that his country attributes to the protection of intellectual property rights, and pointing not only to China’s efforts and accomplishments towards an efficient and modern Chinese IP protection system, but also to its wish to contribute to the development of a global IP governance system. And that’s really the vibe that this congress emits: a celebration of the IP world coming together and of China’s willingness to work towards transnational cooperation in an area of law that it considers of the utmost relevance.
