📅 🌿 On March 12th and 13th, the kick-off meeting for the LEAF project took place! The project brings together SERN, Företagarna Trollhättan (the business association of Trollhättan), Trollhättans Stad and Unione Parmense degli Industriali as associated partner, to enhance biodiversity in industrial areas and promote a sustainable industry model. Participants explored the sustainability initiatives of two major Parma-based companies: Laterlite S.p.A. and Davines Group | Certified B Corp. 🏞️Laterlite Spa showcased its nature trail, highlighting initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions, use solar energy, and create sustainable products. 🌻 On day two, we visited Davines, a skin and haircare producer. Their “village” setup includes the DAVINES scientific garden and the European Regenerative Organic Center (EROC), where, in partnership with the Rodale Institute, Davines experiments with regenerative and organic farming practices. 🌳 Both companies are part of the Kilometroverdeparma project, which has grown to 115 members and planted 76,000 trees over the last four years. This initiative fosters public participation and is part of a climate contract with the Province of Parma. 💡 The LEAF Project addresses critical challenges related to biodiversity and sustainability, in line with the EU’s Green Deal and Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. Industrial expansion and urbanisation have led to habitat loss, with limited efforts targeting industrial areas or involving SMEs in conservation initiatives. The project aims to bridge this gap by collecting best practices, offering professional counselling, and exploring innovative training approaches.
