Today we celebrate 55 year’s of service! ⭐   Many Guernsey folk will know the friendly face of Sylvia Le Prevost, our longest serving colleague, who this month celebrates over 5 decades of service.   Sylvia joined the business in 1969. After spending time working at various food retail stores, Sylvia has been based at Morrisons Daily L’Islet since 2001. 🇬🇬   Sylvia comments that she “really enjoys her job, especially working with her lovely colleagues and meeting friendly customers.” She also fondly recalls the shopping experience being very different in the ‘60s in that all fresh stock was stored loose behind the counter!   To celebrate this momentous milestone, Sylvia was presented with a certificate, a bouquet of flowers, gift vouchers and a hamper of her favourite Morrisons goodies…and not forgetting that t shirt - retail legend indeed! ⭐   Huge congratulations to Sylvia on your amazing retail career and commitment to our business.   📷 picture 1 - Sylvia, pictured with Food Retail Operations Director Andrew Holmes 📷 picture 2 - Sylvia with her colleagues and Store Manager Oana Castel #Retail #CustomerService #Recognition #Career #LongService

Convoy of donations for Jersey Hospice 👕🚛 Matalan Jersey have once again teamed up with Jersey Hospice Care and donated TWO truckloads of clothes for the renowned local charity. The donations included a variety of items including; baby clothing, womenswear and items for every season. These clothes will be sold in the Jersey Hospice Care charity stores with all proceeds going towards funding the amazing work they do.    The local charity take care of anyone with a life limiting illness. "We recognise and respect that each person is unique and we therefore offer a holistic approach - which aims to help people get the personalised care they need, make the most of what time is left, and ultimately, to help each person live life to the full. Everyone cared for at Hospice is supported to die pain free, with dignity, and in a place of their choosing." - Jersey Hospice Care   There are not only benefits to our local community with donations such as this. The fashion retail industry contributes tonnes of garments to landfill every year. This is why it is so important that organisations like Jersey Hospice Care, are able to take donations to make sure they are put to good use.

Congratulations to our amazing Brand Marketing Manager Eleyshir James who has won Colleague of the Quarter twice in a row! Not only has she earned the admiration of her colleagues but she has also earned £50 worth of vouchers for the two quarters! Shopping spree sorted! #welldone #colleagueofthequarter #congrats

And that’s a wrap on our 2024 Skills Show, our most 10th and biggest yet at the Royal Jersey Showground. Until next year! 🎉 We extend heartfelt thanks to those who played pivotal roles in bringing this event to life! Dave and the team at the Royal Jersey Showground ; the exceptional Delta Events ( Jersey & Guernsey ) team, without whom we would be lost without; James, Shane and Phil from Pickard Event Services, who crafted the stunning shell scheme pods for our exhibitors; the dedicated team at Signtec and Mailmate for their invaluable contributions to banners, floor plans, and branding; Ian at BSK and homefields , ensuring our exhibitors were well-fed and fuelled; Jersey Dairy for their generous donation of milk, vital for keeping our exhibitors fuelled with tea and coffee; Gary at Tantivy, whose patience and logistical planning facilitated the transportation of around 2,000 students to the Showground; Slingshot Films, for capturing the essence of the day; Warren at @apes.je, for powering our event; and last but not least, our phenomenal exhibitors and sponsor PwC whose energy, interactivity, and engagement brought the Skills Show to life for all who attended. Here’s to another memorable event next year! 🌟
