We had the pleasure of welcoming the fantastic team from Mondelēz International Cadbury UK to our support office as we helped to celebrate 200 years of Cadbury! They ran a fun competition, shared some great stories from their incredible history, and, of course, treated us to plenty of chocolate bars to enjoy! It’s always great to strengthen our long standing relationship with valued suppliers like Mondelēz International. Collaborating with them helps us continue to offer the best for our customers and celebrate iconic brands that have stood the test of time. A huge thank you to Cadbury and Mondelez for a brilliant day and for being such fantastic partners! 🙌

This time of year always marks an exciting time at Morrisons as we welcome our Early Careers new starters! Having already welcomed our 22 Engineering Apprentices last week, we now welcome our 54 graduates who joined us this week. Our graduate programme operates across nine schemes which includes Finance, Retail, Manufacturing Buying, Logistics, People, Buying, Data Science, Corporate & Technology. A huge welcome to all that have joined this week! We're looking forward to supporting you every step of the way and celebrating your achievements as you grow and develop within the Morrisons family. 🌟 Manufacturing Monday Spotlight: Dispatch & Warehouse Edition! 🌟 This week, we had the pleasure of catching up with Andy Donachie, our Dispatch/Warehouse Manager at the Wakefield Bakery, to hear about his first 3 months at Morrisons. Andy’s insights offer a fascinating glimpse into the fast-paced world of manufacturing and logistics. Here’s what he had to say: 🗣️ "In this role, no two days are ever the same. Every day brings new challenges—whether it's resolving transport hiccups, tackling system or production issues, or even something as simple as ensuring the skips are changed over on time. Sometimes, it's the little things that catch you out the most. But despite the demands, the job is incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of seeing your team evolve into a well-oiled machine and knowing that everything has been loaded out correctly, hitting the depots on time. That’s what makes it all worthwhile. For anyone considering a career in warehouse/dispatch management, my advice is simple: be quick on your feet, master multitasking, stay cool under pressure, and, above all, be resilient. Building strong relationships with other departments, sites, and drivers is key—the stronger those connections, the smoother your day will be." Today, we’re proud to announce that every single one of them has successfully graduated and is ready to take on new challenges as future leaders in our business! 🌟 Throughout this journey, these colleagues have gained invaluable training across a wide range of topics—everything from self-awareness and confidence to team dynamics, Diversity & Inclusion, and conducting a Business SWOT Analysis. ✨ This Manufacturing Monday we're shining a light on our Falfish site in Cornwall ✨ On Thursday 1st August, we proudly opened our new seafood freezing centre at the site. It’s the largest and most advanced freezing centre in the UK and is able to freeze up to 112,000 fish per hour, that’s up to 180 tonnes of seafood each day, with fish being caught, frozen and packed in under an hour. For our customers it means they’re able to enjoy a wider range of fresh, high-quality fish and shellfish in store and at our Market Street counters. It also supports our target of net zero operational emissions by 2035 with the new technology that’s environmentally friendly. 🐟🦀 Andrew Thornber, our Group Manufacturing Director, said: “Over 80 per cent of the fish and shellfish sold in Morrisons stores comes from our seafood operations in Cornwall, where we buy directly from local fishermen. Opening the UK’s largest fish freezing centre not only strengthens our position as one of Britain’s biggest foodmakers but also significantly grows our seafood export business.” #ManufacturingMonday #FoodManufacturing
