#Sweden has approved an additional SEK 125 million to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This support includes humanitarian aid for #Gaza, #Sudan, and #Ukraine. The increasing political resistance to sexual and reproductive health and rights (#SRHR), along with #humanitarian crises and diminishing resources for maternal health care, safe abortions, comprehensive sex education, and contraceptives, poses a significant risk to #women and #girls, especially those living in crisis and conflict situations. Through these new contributions to UNFPA, #Sweden is helping to ensure that women and #children have access to contraceptives, safe abortion care, maternity #care, and other life-saving health services, as well as protection from sexual and #gender-based violence. Sweden’s total support to UNFPA via the Ministry for Foreign Affairs amounts to SEK 521.75 million for 2025. 🤝 United Nations 🤝 United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 🤝 Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs 🤝 Sida #SwedenInMENA #SwedenInJordan #HumanitarianSupport #GlobalSupport

On March 8, UN Women in #Tunisia celebrated women’s commitment and rights through the art of young talents. Each artwork highlighted the issue of unpaid care work and the importance of a fairer distribution of responsibilities between women and men. A huge thank you to our guests and everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative! This event is part of the #DareToCare regional program, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Sida, the German Development Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH), and the Basque Agency for Development Cooperation (AVC) La Agencia Vasca de Cooperación para el Desarrollo. 📽️ Courtesy of UN Women in #Tunisie - #HappyIWD2025 #SwedenInMENA #SwedenInTunisia #SwedenInJordan In partnership with Embassy of Sweden in Tunisia 📣

In light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in #Gaza, the 🇸🇪 Government has decided on a new support package of SEK 300 million to meet the urgent needs of the civilian population. The support is distributed to the United Nations Humanitarian Land Fund for #Palestine, the UN World Food Programme, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the @UN Development Programme UNDP and the International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC. This comes following the Swedish Government decision to significantly strengthen preparedness to support the response by allocating SEK 800 million to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the region in December 2024. "Let us all, in our respective countries and roles, take concrete steps forward—to move from words to action, to allocate resources for implementing the regional #roadmap, and to secure the commitment of key stakeholders including decision and policymakers. Only through this collective commitment and collaboration can we drive real and lasting change on the ground, that affects #women, men, boys and girls, in #Jordan and far beyond to the region.” - Ms. Maria Sargren, Ambassador of Sweden to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in her speech at the conference on "Developing a Regional Roadmap for the #CareEconomy in the #Arab Region," earlier today. #SwedenInJordan #SwedenInMena UN Women @Sida #UNWomenArabia #UNWomenJordan
