We were thrilled to have participated in the IAPH World Ports Conference 2024 in Hamburg, Germany! Our Sales Director of EMEASA, Neelima Pamulapati, shared valuable insights as a panelist on our AI-driven approach to trade compliance, designed to ensure regulatory adherence while facilitating efficient cargo clearances and strengthening port infrastructure. She also highlighted the critical role of enhanced communication and data sharing among customs, port operators, and shipping companies to expedite goods delivery and reduce costs. Thank you International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) for this opportunity to engage with industry leaders and explore how we can work together towards a more resilient and efficient global trade ecosystem. #IAPH2024 #AI #Resilience #GlobalTrade #Technology

🌍⚓ Shaping the Future of Sustainable Ports at #IAPH2024 At this year’s #IAPH2024 World Port Conference (WPC), held from 8 to 10 October in Hamburg, Germany, global port industry leaders and decision-makers gathered to discuss key themes such as building resilience, enhancing sustainability, and unlocking new opportunities. The event, organized by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) under the leadership of Patrick Verhoeven, IAPH’s Managing Director, was a great success. MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions BV) was proud to be the Gold Sponsor of this event. Frank Luisman, Senior Partner & CEO of MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions BV), presented on the main stage with his keynote speech on Financing Energy and Climate Investments in Developing Ports, presenting the findings of a study (https://lnkd.in/eWFYqfPG) commissioned by International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) conducted by MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions BV) on the port climate adaptation and decarbonisation investment needs of developing nations. The study, developed under the responsibility of MTBS Partner Indra Vonck, explored the current state of port adaptation and decarbonisation infrastructure in developing nations, with case studies from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kenya and the Solomon Islands, and identified the investments needed to ensure a fair and equitable transition. MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions BV) also participated in in the panel on Partnering with Investors to Optimise Concessions, which was excellently moderated by Mike Mundy. As introduction to the panel discussion, Frank Luisman presented on the current global drivers the Port industry is facing and provided case examples how these impact concessions agreements and partnership structures for brownfield and greenfield assets internationally. We would like to thank moderator Mike Mundy and the other members of the panel, Roger Clasquin of Van Oord and Thanos Pallis. It was great meeting port industry leaders and discussing the important topics that will shape the rapidly changing future of our sector. Thanks to International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and Port of Hamburg for successfully hosting this event.

Last week’s IAPH World Ports Conference in Hamburg brought our Hanseatic city and Germany’s largest seaport Port of Hamburg into the global spotlight. Through many keynotes and panel discussions, it became clear that the international port industry is already highly innovative and collaborative, but still has much work to do. Ports still face many challenges in the future: as a crucial part of critical infrastructure, they must become even more resilient, especially against cyberattacks, to ensure the continued supply and connectivity of national and global economies. Additionally, they must contribute to enabling the energy transition and continue to decarbonize the industry while addressing environmental concerns. Beyond the high-level conference, there were once again many opportunities to meet familiar and new faces from the industry. I want to thank you all: Kai Gerullis, Sabine Stüben,Dominik Landa, Linda Lautenschläger, Dr. Andreia Thiel, Stephan Piworus , Friedrich Stuhrmann, Arsenio Dominguez, Patrick Verhoeven, Ingvar M. Mathisen , Claes Sundmark, Simone Tommaso Maraschi, Jörg Jocker, Ansis Zeltins, Kaspars Ozoliņš, Norbert K., Tino Klemm and many more for the great encounters and the enriching exchange, both on a personal and professional level. I especially want to thank everyone responsible at Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) for all the hard work and a fantastic job. Additionally, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Freeport of Riga on winning the Sustainability Award!

Great week in Hamburg, even when not at the #IAPH2024 conference we were exploring the maritime landscape. It’s difficult not to as the Hamburgers are so proud of their port heritage. Even spotted a #sturgeon in our travels At the conference it was great to hear and be able to present PANTHALASSA LTD work with International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and World Ports Sustainability Program in the past year at the congress, and see port representatives from across the globe from projects in Asia. Truly humbling is the commitment of all present, especially those award nominees to #society, #safety, #climate and #environment. I came away enthused by all the work delivered and planned within the sector.
