At the beginning of the year, the BBC was in attendance to document and broadcast David Pulford’s balloon placement, as he was one of the first patients to receive the Allurion Gastric Balloon through the NHS at Musgrove Park Hospital. New data from $ALUR from #ECO24 out this morning on a hot topic in #obesity: muscle mass preservation. 712 patients on Allurion lost 14.1% body weight, 70% of which came from fat mass, and only 30% of which coming from lean body mass. This compares to ~40% lean body mass loss with GLP-1 therapy and underscores the importance of Allurion's coaching and behavior change program for positive and sustainable weight loss. We believe that one day, $ALUR may be able to deliver total preservation of lean body mass to our patients with limited human intervention.
