Due to Increase in population, the generation of solid waste is getting doubled by day . More than 2.2 Billion tons of solid waste are produced Every year .This figure is set to Raise by 70% by 2050. How can organization Collaborate to Reduce Waste? 1.Raising awareness for Waste Management through educating the public on sustainable Resources and Waste Management. According to statistics, Organic Waste comprises at least 30% of total Waste produced in a household. By separating the Organic Waste from the rest and compost, it will reduce the amount of waste produced in every household. 2.Taking a stand on holding plastic companies accountability .The other day, Nema issued a notice to 29 companies that were polluting Nairobi River with products and packaging materials .They were compelled to clean up the wastes within the specific sites where the environmental transgressions occurred . Adopting Deposit Refund System which has been proven to effectively work in countries like Germany .The Principle is based on the belief that those who produce pollution should bear the costs of managing it to prevent it from damaging human health as well as the environment .

Promoting Sustainable and Healthy Communities in Kibra 🌱 During the International Youth Day, the Nature Target Initiative Forum was honored to take part in a community outreach event in Kibra. Our team joined hands with local residents to conduct a cleanup activity, one of our core objectives aimed at fostering sustainable and healthy communities.
