This week, DCA successfully launched the publication “The Business Case for Food Systems Change” during the Africa Business and Human Rights Forum. The publication looks at different opportunities for enhancing food systems resilience through responsible business conduct and multistakeholder approaches. Through the study we: ✔ Spotlight key human rights risks in the agrifood sector across Sub-Saharan Africa. ✔Address how that policy makers, donors and private sector can create a positive impact for climate, biodiversity, and rights holders while strengthening their own businesses and food systems models. ✔Highlight the advantage of systematic investment screenings and prioritisation of agroecological enterprises to ensure both short- and long-term food security. ✔Advise to harmonise national policy towards new environmental and human rights due diligence EU regulation. The publication is comprised of cases from DanChurchAid partners and other actors promoting food systems change, thus allowing for diverse, multistakeholder experiences and perspectives to form key recommendations. The cases are authored by Danfoss, SHONA, Centre for Education Policy and Climate Justice (CEPCJ), African Women Agri-business network Uganda limited(AWAN), Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association, PAMOJA TRUST, Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS), and Folkekirkens Nødhjælp (DanChurchAid).
