Last week, our founder had the privilege of attending the Africa Climate Summit at ACS@one, organized by Jacob’s Ladder. This gathering was an inspiring opportunity for reflection and engagement, as representatives from the government, private sector, and civil society came together to assess their strides in climate action. The summit provided a unique platform to celebrate achievements across sectors while fostering dialogue on how to continue pushing forward on the continent's climate agenda. A particularly enlightening aspect was the introduction to Flloca funds, which are administered at the county level. These funds are a remarkable step toward enabling local governments to access resources needed for climate resilience projects tailored to their unique challenges. In addition to the Flloca initiative, several other government programs were highlighted, each playing a pivotal role in aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action. These efforts underscore a strong commitment to not only addressing immediate climate-related needs but also to embedding sustainability into the broader development framework. The experience at ACS@one was invaluable, reinforcing the collective progress made and inspiring new ways to support climate resilience and advocacy within our own community initiatives. A big thank you to Jacob's Ladder Africa for the opportunity. #goalkeepers#SDG#climateaction#holdingtheplayersaccountable

Today as we celebrate The International Day for Girl Child, did you know that according to UNICEF statistics, almost double the number of adolescent girls (1 in 4) compared to boys are not in any form of education, employment or training? Today’s theme being, vision for the future, at Xolani women of hope we envision a future where girls will be able to occupy male-dominated fields, not as tea girls or receptionists, but as part of the technical team. This will help them negotiate for equal pay for equal job done, closing the wage gap that exist. When girls are economically empowered, it will reduce the 75% of new HIV infections among adolescent girls, reduce the current statistics where 1 in 3 adolescent girls suffer malnutrition, reduced teenage pregnancies and early marriages. We congratulate the 15 Xolani Women of Power who graduated on 9th October after a 8 months program training on Motorcycle repair. We appreciate our partners, theAustralian High Commission Kenya , @benacare Ltd Naom Monari Eric Kamau The Confidence Queen by Nancy Akeyo @ultimate bikes by Alexander Ndirangu , Daisy Oindi Deborah Monari Phebe Monyangifor the immense support. The world is a better place because of you.

Last week our baby company @xolani natureGlow of Xolani women of hope partnered with The Kilgoris Project to support education of 2100 children they are supporting in Narok County. It was amazing hearing testimonies of children they are supporting right from medical care, meals, books and over 100 teachers they have employed. Also attendees were able to have a feel of our handcrafted products that are made by the women from underserved communities we serve. It was such an amazing experience seeing how people from different spaces can come together to support this noble cause. This was a reaffirmation of one key lessons I have learnt in life. We only have one tribe called ‘humanity’. #educateachild#qualityeducationforall#humanforhuman#communityempowerment

Kenya’s zero-rated import duty on motorcycles has created an estimated 2 million jobs in the transport sector. Currently, only 30% of those jobs are occupied by women. Through our #DirectAidProgram, Xolani women of hope are upskilling women under 25 years in motorcycle repair, maintenance and riding.   We are proud to support this initiative that’s breaking down gender barriers and creating new job opportunities for women. Gen Z is stepping up in Kenya, taking on a crucial role in pushing for change amidst rising challenges. With the increasing costs of living, and persistent economic pressures, they are raising their voices, mobilizing, and calling for accountability. This generation is not just talking; they are using their platforms to organize protests, share information, and educate others about their rights. Gen Z is tech-savvy, informed, and unafraid to demand the change they want to see. They’re uniting to question policies that burden the everyday citizen and pushing for reforms that promise a more sustainable future. Gen Z’s activism spans beyond just the digital realm. They’re joining forces in community actions, advocating for affordable healthcare, fair wages, and an end to the cycle of political corruption. They see the challenges that Kenya faces and are stepping in with a fresh perspective, one that prioritizes equality, transparency, and social justice. It’s time to join them in this fight to liberate our country. Together, we can create a Kenya that works for everyone, where the cost of living is manageable, and access to essential services is a right, not a privilege. Let’s stand with Gen Z and keep pushing for a better Kenya!

As we approach the conclusion of our motorcycle repair training program, one thing has become abundantly clear: daycare support is essential for women’s empowerment. With 80% of our trainees being single mothers, childcare was a critical need that enabled them to attend and complete the program. If we are to make TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) enrollment accessible to girls and women from underserved communities, the system must address the unique challenges they face, including affordable childcare. Without this, education and career advancement will remain out of reach for many. Grateful for the support through Direct aid program by the Australian High Commission Kenya CHRP Dorcas nyamanya #WomenEmpowerment #SingleMothers #TVET #SkillsDevelopment #InclusiveEducation

Today marks another chapter in the incredible story of my life. A story of resilience, where each day presents new challenges and victories, yet the theme of courage and hope remains constant. With every sunrise, I choose to pick up the pen, writing not just for myself but for those whose lives i inspire with my words and actions. Through every twist and turn, I’ve been steadfast, finding strength in faith and in the blessings bestowed upon me by God. Here's to another year of resilience, growth, and blessings! I will Keep writing, keep inspiring, and may the chapters ahead be filled with even more triumphs.

Today, we pause to commemorate the brave Africans who fought in World War I and II—real stories of real families whose lives were forever changed. One such story is that of a woman from Kitui, married for only two months when her husband was taken away to war. For over 70 years, she lived without closure, learning only much later of his passing. These are our stories, etched in history yet often untold. As we remember these heroes, we commit to telling these stories from our perspective, passing them on to our children. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten. #LestWeForget #AfricanHeroes #WorldWarCommemoration #untillthelionstelltheirstory @commonwealthwargraves @kenyamusem Engage Kenya
