Employee Spotlight: Ghislain Ghyoot Director - Captive Services at Aon Cayman Ghislain’s journey began with KPMG in South Africa and the Cayman Islands, where he honed his skills in the insurance division, focusing on captive insurance audits. He later joined Aon Cayman, gaining deep expertise in healthcare captives and large commercial captives. Ghislain has made groundbreaking contributions to the industry, leading the first-ever licensing of a Crypto Captive in Cayman and securing CIMA’s approval for innovative solutions like holding stable coin as cash equivalents and remitting premium in USDC. He’s also been pivotal in onboarding commercial P&C reinsurance clients and leading Aon Cayman’s Life Re commercial book. What Ghislain Loves About His Role: Ghislain finds immense satisfaction in the tangible value his work creates, especially when combined with the talented team he works with. For him, this combination makes the environment truly rewarding. Proudest Project: While Ghislain is proud of pioneering crypto-related captives and securing CIMA approvals, he believes his most rewarding project is still yet to come! Life Outside of Work: When he's not making waves in the financial world, Ghislain enjoys spending time on the water here in Cayman. Before upgrading to a 4-stroke motor, he relished the nostalgic whine of the old 2-stroke as it drowned out the sound of the kids while cruising the North Sound. Now, with the new motor, he enjoys peaceful fishing trips—though the kids are still along for the ride! Advice for New Team Members: "Be inquisitive. Employee Spotlight: Welcoming Aidan Hew We are thrilled to announce that our scholarship recipient, Aidan Hew, has returned for his annual summer internship. This is Aidan’s 3rd summer with Aon Cayman and we are excited to welcome him back to the team for this 2 month placement. About Aidan: Aidan has just completed his 3rd year at Queen’s University (Canada), where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce. We continue to be impressed by Aidan’s dedication to his studies and outstanding academic performance. Aidan even spent a semester in Europe this year studying at the Università Bocconi in Milan. Role at Aon: Aidan works closely with our teams across Captives and Broking and routinely undertakes group and individual projects. With a keen eye for detail, Aidan has strong data and analytics skills which means we are always excited for his return as we know he will make a material impact quickly! Future at Aon: We are even more excited to announce that at the end of the upcoming academic year, Aidan will be joining us full-time as an Account Manager Trainee.
