Cayman Airways Express plane experiences a bird strike out of Little Cayman 📰 At approximately 7:50 am this morning August 16, 2024, Cayman Airways Express flight KX4420, operated by a Twin Otter aircraft, experienced a bird strike after takeoff from the Edward Bodden Airfield on Little Cayman destined to the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac. The occurrence was not evident during the flight, and the aircraft had a normal landing at CKIA. However, while conducting their standard pre-flight safety check of the aircraft while on the ground awaiting their next flight, the pilots confirmed that there was evidence of a bird strike on one of the aircraft’s wings. The aircraft has been taken out of service temporarily, awaiting the arrival of a maintenance team from Grand Cayman. Read the official PSA here: https://bit.ly/3yHi3p2

TRAVEL ADVISORY, AUGUST 15, 2024: Cayman Airways was advised by the Government of Honduras today, August 15, 2024, that nationals of the Cayman Islands, and nationals of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland who are domiciled in the Cayman Islands, are now exempt from the visa requirement for entry into Honduras. These individuals are now classified under Category "A," meaning they no longer need to obtain a visa to travel to Honduras. Passengers who qualify for this exemption will be required to show proof of their Cayman Islands domicile when traveling to Honduras.

Cayman Airways has been informed by the Government of Honduras that, effective August 15, 2024, the following nationals will require a visa for entry into Honduras: ▪️ Nationals of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ▪️Holders of British Passports from the Special Administrative Regions of the People’s Republic of China (Hong Kong) stating “British nationality” ▪️Holders of British Passports originally from other British territories, including the Cayman Islands Passengers travelling with Cayman Airways are advised to ensure that they have all necessary travel documents, including visas, prior to arriving at the airport to check-in and for document verification. Passengers will be required to present proof of their visa to Cayman Airways staff. Cayman Airways understands that visas for the above nationals are not currently being issued in the Cayman Islands, but may be obtained from Honduras consulates in Panama, Havana, Miami, and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
