Our portfolio company ZE ENERGY closed a new fundraising round of Series B. We're glad to welcome new shareholders Amundi and Demeter, together with Groupe SORÉGIES, already a minority shareholder, who have committed a total of €54m. Ze Energy is an independent 🇫🇷 French power producer. The company’s hybrid solar-plus-storage plants solve the intermittency and cannibalisation challenges of solar energy and allow energy transition without the need for traditional power plants to compensate for periods of shortage, thus reducing 🌿 CO2 emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. The company also leverages digital solutions to optimise the use of its energy generation assets at all times. By the end of 2026, the company aims to reach a portfolio of projects in operation and ready-to-build of more than 900 MW of PV and 600 MWh of storage across Europe. We invested in Ze Energy in 2021 via Marguerite II. #solarpower #ESGinvesting #ESGinfrastructure

À propos
Marguerite is a pan-European investor in long-life greenfield and brownfield expansion infrastructure. Our funds seek out capital-intensive, sustainable investment opportunities with a particular focus on four sectors: (1) Energy & Renewables, (2) Digital Transformation, (3) Waste & Water and (4) Transport. Marguerite manages four European infrastructure funds, the most recent being Marguerite III. Over the years, we’ve deployed in excess of €1.5 billion into projects designed to address the changing infrastructure landscape in Europe by integrating ESG principles and creating positive change for society. Marguerite III benefits from support from the European Union under the InvestEU Fund. From our origins in 2010 as an independent infrastructure investment manager backed by the European Investment Bank and the main European National Promotional Banks, we have evolved into a fund manager dedicated to generating value for investors while integrating robust ESG screening as part of our eligibility criteria and continuously measuring the positive impact of our investments. Our team is based in Luxembourg and Paris.

“Ultra-trail running is just like investing in energy transition infrastructure,” said our Christophe Bonnat after completing yet another extreme run, 🏔 the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) – deemed the most competitive trail ultramarathon in the world. “It’s all about long-term commitment: you must be prepared to run 176 km non-stop for over 43 hours and climb 10,000 meters. It’s surely not suited for those willing to get things done quickly and hoping to see immediate results,” he added. The UTMB Mont Blanc passes the 🇫🇷 French, 🇨🇭 Swiss and 🇮🇹 Italian Alps in a loop around Europe’s highest peak. “Even if you compete individually, it’s also about teamwork. I started trail running many years ago with a very good friend, and we have been motivating each other ever since, encouraging ourselves to go further. Having a good partner to rely on in difficult times can make or break you,” Christophe added. A huge congratulations to you, Christophe, from the team, and we’re looking forward to your next challenge. photo credit: ©sportograf #passion #teamnews #ultratrail #ultramarathon #infrastructure #energytransition #montblanc
