On 26 and 27 September 2024, the Pelagos Agreement will participate in the 2nd edition of Nice Climat Summit, which this year will be entirely dedicated to seas and oceans. This two-day event will be held in Nice, exactly nine months before the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC2025), and will be organised by La Tribune with the Région Sud - Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the Metropolitan City of Nice Côte d'Azur and the Ville de Nice. 🇫🇷🇲🇨🌊 PARTICIPATION AU WORKSHOP OCEAN DE "OCEANS VENTURE" DE THALES ALENIA SPACE Le 18 juillet, la nouvelle initiative "Oceans" lancée par Thales Alenia Space a réuni à Cannes des représentants de pôles de compétitivité, des instituts de recherche et de technologie, des grandes entreprises, ainsi que les Accords RAMOGE et Pelagos Agreement . L'objectif de cet atelier était de discuter des problématiques concernant les océans afin de proposer de nouvelles solutions innovantes. 🌊🐟 Les Accords RAMOGE et Pelagos ont pu partager leur expertise sur les défis majeurs auxquels fait face la mer Méditerranée et ont fourni un éclairage précieux sur la préservation de la biodiversité marine et des écosystèmes. 🌍🌿 Ces échanges ont été très enrichissants, permettant de nourrir les débats, d'ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives et de guider les futures actions de la venture. 🌟🔍🚀 *** 🇮🇹🌊 PARTECIPAZIONE AL WORKSHOP OCEANO DI "OCEANS VENTURE" DI THALES ALENIA SPACE Il 18 luglio, la nuova iniziativa "Oceans" lanciata da Thales Alenia Space ha riunito a Cannes rappresentanti di poli di competitività, istituti di ricerca e tecnologia, grandi aziende, nonché gli Accordi RAMOGE e Pelagos Agreement . 🎉 Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with International University of Monaco! 🤝 Within the framework of the cooperation activities foreseen in the 2022-2027 Management Plan and in the related Programmes of Work, a new collaboration with the International University of Monaco has been finalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding! The signing of such a MoU represents a joint commitment to establish a collaboration framework with the aim to strengthen the international cooperation and contribute to achieve the general objectives of the Pelagos Agreement! 🐳🐬🦭

In order to strengthen cooperation with entities operating within and beyond the Sanctuary area, the Parties approved, during the last meeting of the Parties of the Pelagos Agreement (MOP9 - 25 & 26 January 2024, Nice), the new Partners' Rules of Procedure and a procedure to officially become a partner of the Pelagos Agreement. 🎉 Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with CoNISMa! Within the framework of the cooperation activities foreseen in the 2022-2027 Management Plan and in the related Programmes of Work, a new collaboration with CoNISMa has been finalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding! 🤝 The signing of such a MoU represents a joint commitment to establish a collaboration framework with the aim to strengthen the support to scientific research and the international cooperation to achieve the general objectives of the Pelagos Agreement. The main areas of collaboration will be: 📚 identification of research lines and technical-scientific analyses as subject for dissertations; 📑 evaluation of joint European and international project proposals; 🐬 involvement in scientific publications and communication, education and awareness raising material; 🔬 collection and/or sharing of data of interest.

On June 22nd, the Yacht Club De Monaco organised the Fête de la Mer 2024 🐳 A day of sports and fun activities for children, without forgetting awareness-raising and protection of the marine environment! The Pelagos Agreement was present with a stand, alongside with the Association Monégasque pour la Protection de la Nature, the Accord RAMOGE and the Musée océanographique de Monaco. Participants could discover what a dolphin looks like and the similarities with humans as well as the activities of the Pelagos Agreement through the SOS Pelagos escape game and the whale risk card game that raises awareness of the issue of collisions. 🇫🇷🇲🇨🌊 RETOUR SUR LA JOURNEE DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT A MONACO 🌍 🐠 À l'occasion de la Journée de l'environnement 🌍, le 5 juin 2024, la Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA Monaco) a invité des acteurs engagés à mener des opérations de nettoyage au Larvotto, à Monaco, et à animer des ateliers pour sensibiliser le public à la préservation de l'environnement 🌿. Le nettoyage de la plage et de la surface de la mer a mis en évidence la présence de nombreux déchets, notamment des microplastiques et des mégots de cigarette 🚬. Ces déchets ont des impacts considérables et néfastes sur l'environnement marin 🐠, notamment lorsqu'ils sont ingérés par les animaux. Ces effets se répercutent jusqu'à l'homme via la chaîne alimentaire 🍴. Le stand de l'Accord RAMOGE présentait la diversité des missions réalisées dans le cadre de l'Accord et proposait un atelier interactif avec un microscope portatif 🔬, où petits et grands ont pu observer des restes d'organismes recueillis sur la plage lors du nettoyage 🌊. *** 🇮🇹🌊 RITORNO SULLA GIORNATA DELL'AMBIENTE A MONACO 🌍 🐠 In occasione della Giornata dell'Ambiente 🌍, il 5 giugno 2024, la Società Monégasque d'Assainissement (SMA Monaco) ha invitato attori impegnati a condurre operazioni di pulizia a Larvotto, a Monaco, e a organizzare laboratori per sensibilizzare il pubblico alla preservazione dell'ambiente 🌿. La pulizia della spiaggia e della superficie del mare ha evidenziato la presenza di numerosi rifiuti, in particolare microplastiche e mozziconi di sigaretta 🚬. Questi rifiuti hanno impatti considerevoli e dannosi sull'ambiente marino 🐠, soprattutto quando vengono ingeriti dagli animali. Questi effetti si ripercuotono sull'uomo attraverso la catena alimentare 🍴. Lo stand dell'Accordo RAMOGE metteva in luce la diversità delle missioni realizzate nell'ambito dell'Accordo e proponeva un laboratorio interattivo con un microscopio portatile 🔬, dove grandi e giovani hanno potuto osservare resti di organismi raccolti sulla spiaggia durante la pulizia 🌊.
