Speaking the same language in the life cycle assessment – across the entire value chain 🌍 Measuring Scope 3 emissions, which include indirect emissions along the value chain, remains a challenge. These emissions represent a significant part of a company's carbon footprint and require close collaboration with suppliers, partners and customers to obtain accurate data and develop reduction strategies. 🤝 The industry demonstrates that accurate monitoring of emissions and integration of LCA approaches are essential for sustainable practices. A standardized database is the key to holistic accounting along the value chain. The participants of the RWTH Certificate Course "Fundamentals of Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for Industrial Products" now speak the same LCA language. 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐌.𝐒𝐜. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 🦷 The winter semester is flying by! It feels as if our students had just been in Aachen for the first time and got to know each other personally. But now the second attendance phase was just around the corner – and this time it was all about surgery and its usage in periodontology. During the four days, our lecturers first laid the foundation for the surgical treatment of periodontological diseases. Building on this, further incision and suturing techniques were demonstrated and practiced step by step by the students. 💪🏼 This allowed everyone to work at their own pace and practice the treatment methods in a less hectic environment. Instructional videos and step-by-step photo series were also very helpful and allowed our students to repeatedly reassure themselves. As direct and personal contact with our professors is important to us, they are available to answer individual questions throughout the entire training period – or they may even lend a hand themselves to demonstrate the intricate techniques in a quiet setting. They also share their personal tips and tricks from countless hours of treatment. 💡 However, our students were not only able to try out different techniques, but also different materials and instruments during the four days. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our industry partners who not only supported us with materials, but also provided live on-site support and were available to answer any questions: Geistlich, B.
