Launched by the Prime Minister in May 2015, the Malaysian Chapter works to catalyse real transformation in Corporate Malaysia through a culture of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). The 30% Club Malaysia’s recent DEI Masterclass was designed for leaders in the transformation, business & strategy and people space, equipping them with strategies to shape a diverse and inclusive workplace culture at their respective organisations. Over the course of an hour, Aiza Aryati Kasim, Volunteer Advocate and Head of HR at Principal Asset Management Bhd led over 20 attendees in a discussion on the distinction between intention and impact in becoming more aware of unconscious biases, explored actionable steps to drive DEI in their organisations, and shared ways in which to uphold accountability and measure impact. The DEI Masterclass would not have been possible without the effort and dedication of Co-leads of the 30% Club Malaysia’s Enable Pillar Raj Kumar Paramanathan and Geetha Kandiah, and Volunteer Advocate Aira Pandawa and Chew Ann Jee in organising the masterclass. As shared by Nurul Ain Abdul Latif, Chair of 30% Club Malaysia in her closing remarks, moving the needle on gender parity is not just about policies, it’s also about people.
